Watch: MÖTLEY CRÜE Plays 'Secret' Club Show In New York City

MÖTLEY CRÜE played a "secret" club show Monday night (May 6) at New York's Bowery Ballroom. For the concert, the iconic Los Angeles rockers were billed as " 1981 ". The year 1981 is a significant one in MÖTLEY CRÜE 's history, as it represents the year they formed and released their debut single, "Live Wire" , along with their first album, "Too Fast For Love" .

MÖTLEY CRÜE 's setlist for the show at the 600-capacity venue was as follows, according to Setlist.fm :

CRÜE 's performance at the Bowery Ballroom took place two days after the band played two back-to-back shows in Atlantic City, New Jersey on May 3-4, marking CRÜE 's first live appearances of 2024.

This isn't the first time CRÜE has staged a "secret" club show. Last June, MÖTLEY CRÜE performed for 450 lucky fans at the Underworld in London, England. The streets of Camden came alive that night with the buzz that MÖTLEY CRÜE might be the band on the flyer listed as DÖGS OF WAR , with lines around the block for the most exclusive gig in town.

Late last month, MÖTLEY CRÜE released a new single, "Dogs Of War" . The track was made available via the band's new deal with Nashville's Big Machine Records .

MÖTLEY CRÜE 's new deal with Big Machine Records sees the band working together again after making the 2014 project "Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute To Mötley Crüe" , which featured CRÜE tracks covered by country stars RASCAL FLATTS , FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE , Darius Rucker and more. Big Machine also partnered with John 5 for the release of his 2021 album "Sinner" .

MÖTLEY CRÜE 's last studio album was 2008's "Saints Of Los Angeles" , which was followed by a 2009 "Greatest Hits" compilation.

In 2018, MÖTLEY CRÜE recorded four new songs for "The Dirt" movie, including the single "The Dirt (Est. 1981) (Feat. Machine Gun Kelly)" , "Ride With The Devil" , "Crash And Burn" and the band's own spin on Madonna 's "Like A Virgin" .

John 5 joined MÖTLEY CRÜE in the fall of 2022 as the replacement for the band's co-founding guitarist Mick Mars . Mick announced his retirement from touring with MÖTLEY CRÜE in October 2022 as a result of worsening health issues.

Mars suffers from Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS),a chronic and inflammatory form of arthritis that mainly affects the spine and pelvis. After years of performing through the pain, he informed the other members of MÖTLEY CRÜE in the summer of 2022 that he could no longer tour with them but would still be open to recording new music or performing at residencies that did not require much travel.

When Mars announced his retirement from touring with MÖTLEY CRÜE , he maintained that he would remain a member of the band, with John 5 taking his place on the road. However, in early April 2023 the now-72-year-old musician filed a lawsuit against CRÜE in Los Angeles County's Superior Court claiming that, after his announcement, the rest of CRÜE tried to remove him as a significant stakeholder in the group's corporation and business holdings via a shareholders' meeting.

MOUNT PLEASANT, MI – A series of outdoor concerts, featuring Mötley Crüe, Miranda Lambert and Shinedown is scheduled at a Northern Michigan casino this summer.

The outdoor concert venue at Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort seats 12,500. The 2024 season kicks off Friday, June 7, with a sold-out show by Shinedown, and then continues with a list of well-known country and rock artists.

Motley Crue Kicks Off Tour In Atlantic City

Atlantic City got to see the first show of Motley Crue ’s North American Tour on Friday night, (5-3).

The set list consisted of  14 songs, including the fan favorite deep cut, “Too Fast For Love. One song missing, was “Don’t Go Away Mad, Just Go Away,” but they had to make room for new songs, like “Dogs of War.” Loudwire noted that it’s been a year since Crue revealed that they were working on new music with Dr. Feelgood producer, Bob Rock .

The Crue has scattered shows now through mid-October. Daytona Beach this week and 12 more concerts including stops in Milwaukee, Quebec, and Springfield, Illinois.

Motley Crue to bring 'Crüe Year's Eve' to Acrisure Arena

L ooking to celebrate New Year's Eve on the "Wild Side?" You're in luck, because the bad boys of rock 'n' roll Mötley Crüe are bringing "Crüe Year's Eve" to Acrisure Arena.

Doors for the Dec. 31 concert will open at 8:30 p.m. and the show will start at 10 p.m. Mötley Crüe will perform through midnight to celebrate the New Year on stage with fans.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 8 at ticketmaster.com .

It's not a Mötley Crüe concert without the special effects, pyrotechnics and theatrical elements. In a statement, Acrisure Arena Senior Vice President John Page described the show as a "unique celebration for fans."

Mötley Crüe is known best for hard partying,  famous girlfriends  and 1980s-era hits like "Girls, Girls, Girls" and "Dr. Feelgood."

'Not just a concert'

"It's not just a concert; it's a special event to close out the year with the Mötley Crüe experience. The energy and showmanship they bring are unparalleled, and there’s no better way to ring in the New Year than with this legendary band," Page said. "Acrisure Arena is honored to be the exclusive host for Mötley Crüe’s only scheduled performance and final show of 2023."

In 2022, Mötley Crüe, which features Vince Neil, bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee, embarked on a U.S. stadium tour with rock bands Poison, Def Leppard and Joan Jett & the Blackhearts . It was the band's first tour since its farewell tour in 2015.

Following the tour, the band announced the departure of guitarist Mick Mars, who was retiring for medical reasons.

The band said in a statement that they "accept Mick's decision to retire from the band due to the challenges with his health" as Mars struggled with ankylosing spondylitis. They promised to "carry out Mick's wish" by moving forward with the band's 2023 tour, announcing guitarist John 5 would be performing in Mars' place.

But in April, Mars filed a lawsuit against the band for allegedly kicking him out as he struggles with ankylosing spondylitis. Mars' attorneys allege in the 29-page lawsuit that the band planned to oust him, "to fire him as a director of the corporation, to fire him as an officer of the corporation, and to take away his shares of the corporation."

Mars' lawsuit outlines years of legal trouble and drug addiction related to other band members. It also alleges that the guitarist was the only one who played live for all of his final tour dates, while other members used recordings.
