Basketball Tryouts will be held in the Ligon Gym (2:30-4:45) on the following dates:

Monday, November 18th (All Boys & Girls)
Tuesday, November 19th (All Boys & Girls)
NO Tryouts on Wed, Nov. 20th
Thursday, November 21st (Callbacks Only)
Friday, November 22nd (Callbacks Only)

First Cuts will be made after Tuesday’s Tryouts; Final Cuts on Friday

Parents should Register their child(ren) in DragonFly, complete ALL information, Upload current Physical Exam & Medical Eligibility Forms (Found in DragonFly). Please complete/upload everything in Dragonfly well before tryouts for approval

ALL Students should be registered in DragonFly prior to Tryouts. Any student not in DragonFly by 11/15 (the Friday before) may not get their paperwork cleared in time for tryouts. All Students need a completed DragonFly Registration which includes current & updated Sports Physical & Medical Eligibility Forms uploaded online. Students must also meet all WCPSS Academic Eligibility Guidelines.

Field Location : At Corner of Tipton & Church St. (Limited Parking Available)
Parking: Tipton Lot by Fields or Haywood Street (walk Behind Gym/Huts to Fields).
Gate Admission: $6.00 Cash, Card, or GoFan.co (WCPSS staff & children <5 free)
Game Time/Gates Open: Gates open at 3:30 (on Path to Game Field Entrance)…
Bathrooms available inside the school in the Gym Lobby Area (Staff will Unlock)
No Concessions… Please Help Keep our Fields Clean. (Trash Cans located nearby)

SPORT PHYSICALS & Accident Insurance

All physicals are good for one year. There are several area locations to choose from, some that take walk-ins, and are also low cost if you cannot get into your Regular Doctor’s Office:

Information on Student Accident Insurance:

If your child is involved in the following activities, he or she must have accident insurance:

athletic programs — whether interscholastic or intramural
marching bands
school patrols
cheerleaders
any activity group making an overnight or extended trip

You must provide proof of existing accident insurance coverage on the consent forms for these activities.

Congratulations to our All of our Fall 2024 Sports Teams…

Girls’ Soccer went 7-0 as Back-to Back Undefeated Conference Champions (25-1-0 Record since 2021)

Football built on last year’s 4-2 record to go 5-1 this year (5-0 in conf; w/an incomplete game due to Rainout)

Volleyball squared off against some fierce competition in the always challenging Central Conference and showed tremendous growth under the leadership of Coach Hof in her first year here at Ligon. Great Job Ladies!

Cheerleading brought the noise on the sidelines cheering their team on to victory at all of our Home Games and also travelled to show our amazing School Spirit at our Away Game vs. Dillard Drive this year. Thank you ladies for your Pride & Poise. Let’s Go Ligon!
