Dota 2: 2023 DPC Tour 2 Division I Overview – Western Europe, Eastern Europe & North America

Dota 2: 2023 DPC Tour 2 Division I Overview – Western Europe, Eastern Europe & North America

We take a look at what we can expect to see from Europe and North America in Division I of the DPC 2023.

The end of The Lima Major 2023 meant that Tour 1 of the 2023 DPC was officially over. In other words, it’s time to focus on the Tour 2 of the DPC because it will begin in just a couple of days from now.

As expected, Valve gave us access to the newest Dota 2 patch 7.23e, which features loads of hero changes. Speaking of the devil, you can check some of the biggest winners of the new patch. In addition to hero changes, The Dead Reckoning Update also gave us access to a new hero, new items, special features, and so on.

The best Dota 2 players are playing as many PUB games as possible to learn more about the new patch because Tour 2 of the DPC starts in just 3 days from now. We’ll have the chance to watch the best teams and players in the world, so let’s learn more about some of them.

An important thing to remember is that Tour 2 will be the same as Tour 1 in terms of the Divisions. In other words, we’ll have access to the matches from Division I before those from Division II.

Western Europe

SECOND SEASON TEAM BUNDLE It is up to @valvesoftware to decide which voices will be included in our bundle, but if you could choose three of them, which ones would you choose? #Dota2 pic.twitter.com/qMxNFZqhAU — GG | Gaimin Gladiators ⚔️ (@GaiminGladiator) March 9, 2023

Starting with the strongest Dota 2 region in the world, there is no arguing that Western Europe is in a league of its own. The best teams have had almost no competition from the other parts of the world, and The Lima Major 2023 has proven it. Although Talon Esports did well, in the end, GG and Team Liquid had to play in the final. Needless to say, both of them are from Western Europe.

Following Team Secret’s dreadful performance in Tour 1, the team failed to secure its slot among the best in the region. However, the lineup in Division I is pretty solid because it consists of the following names:

  • Team Liquid
  • Tundra Esports
  • Gaimin Gladiators
  • Ooredoo Thunders
  • Nigma Galaxy

The action in Western Europe’s Division I starts on March 13 and will last until April 2.

It probably doesn’t come as a surprise that Gaimin Gladiators is the big favorite here because the team just won The Lima Major 2023. Moreover, it had almost no problems doing it and even defeated Team Liquid twice.

Speaking of the devil, Team Liquid is the 2nd contender for a slot in the second Major. Nisha and the rest were almost flawless during the Major, but the team lost 2 times against GG.

OG, Tundra, Entity and Nigma Galaxy are also going to give everything they have to secure a slot for the second Major. Every team has what it takes to go there, so we can’t wait to see what will happen.

Eastern Europe

The final vlog of Team Spirit Dota 2 roster. In this episode, we will show the game vs Talon Esports, the discussion of the maps, and the results of the team's performance at the Lima Major 2023. 👇 https://t.co/812A9f11qd ENG SUBS pic.twitter.com/hATnSEjnJs — Team Spirit (@Team__Spirit) March 8, 2023

Following Team Spirit’s dominant performance at TI 10, it seems like the best Eastern European teams are struggling to show their prowess. BetBoom looked very promising prior to The Lima Major 2023, and so did Team Spirit. However, neither lived up to the expectations because they were eliminated early on.

With that said, Tour 2 of the Eastern Europe 2023 DPC will look even more interesting because we have 2 new additions. In fact, here are all of the teams that will take part in the competition:

  • Team Spirit
  • HellRaisers
  • BetBoom Team
  • Natus Vincere

If you want to watch the best Eastern European squads in action, tune in on March 12. If everything goes according to plan, the matches in Division I should end on April 2.

Judging from the results at The Lima Major, there is no arguing that Team Spirit is the best Dota 2 team here. Sure, Yatoro and the rest couldn’t win, but they did better than every other team from EEU.

BetBoom Team had hardly any problems during Tour 1, so they will be one of the names we’ll keep an eye on. However, teams like HelllRaisers, Darkside, and even Virtus.Pro will be more than happy to steal the Major slot from them. Speaking of slots, EEU will have 3 of them for the second Major.

Interestingly, Natus Vincere is also back among the best teams in Eastern Europe after it was relegated to Division II. Malik and the rest secured a slot in Div1 alongside HYDRA, which will be another exciting name we’ll keep an eye on.

North America

Proud of the boys for their Top 4 debut at a Dota Major under new banner. Great start to the year with so much potential to grow 💚 Thanks for hosting us Peru! 🇵🇪 #LimaMajor pic.twitter.com/eDIGG953fL — Shopify Rebellion (@ShopifyRebels) March 5, 2023

Widely regarded as the least interesting Dota 2 region, Tour 2 in North America definitely looks promising. While it’s true that the Tour 1 winner TSM didn’t live up to the expectations in Lima, Shopify Rebellion won several big series. Hence, the team showed that NA is not dead yet.

In terms of the teams that we’ll have the chance to watch, Tour 2 of the DPC in North America will give us access to the following:

  • 5RATFORCESTAFF
  • Shopify Rebellion
  • Wildcard Gaming
  • Team DogChamp

If you’re interested in watching the best North American Dota 2 teams in the world, you can do that between March 13 and April 2. Of course, we will provide you with daily recaps of everything that happened.

It probably doesn’t surprise that Shopify Rebellion and TSM are the two big favorites in North America. Both teams had little to no competition in Tour 1, and we don’t expect to see any changes this time around.

However, one team may upset TSM and SR’s plans, and its name is nouns. The latter has a talented roster that almost secured a slot for The Lima Major 2023. Needless to say, we expected Gunnar and the rest to step up their game and achieve their goal this time around.

Those of you who won’t have the chance to watch Tour 2 of the 2023 DPC don’t need to worry because we’ll cover everything. Also, don’t forget we have some of the best Dota 2 betting websites where you can punt on the upcoming Tour 2 and many other events.
