La finca is growing its own coffee and provides a coffee tour to transform you in a coffee expert! You end up harvesting, processing, grinding and drinking your own coffee! Fantastic tour done with Robin! Then the stay itself is heaven. Swimming pool, long chairs, beautiful scenery and great food. Nelly and Lina are great hosts and make sure your stay is the most relaxing one! The location allowed us to visit the nearby attractions like Cocora and San Vicnete thermals but we wish we could have stayed longer there just lying down, watching the birds, eating mandarines from the trees in the garden and drinking coffee! It continues through the plantation with the guide, who tells us the whole process of the coffee. We asked plenty of questions and he answered all of them. You can choose between a short tour or a long one. It wasn't challenging but there were many up and downhills. We did it with children and elder people and we all had fun. It is interactive, at the beginning they gave us typical hats, baskets and vests and we got to pick the coffee berry, grind it... At the end you can buy coffee from the farm. Even the children loved the whole experience picking coffee beans along the way. Very impressed with the knowledge of the guide and his passion for the Colombian coffee culture. The owners have done a wonderful job creating the route adding miradors for amazing views of the landscape along the way. There is also a fascinating selection of Colombian biodiversity to experience with frogs, citrus trees, papaya and banana trees and beautiful flowers all on display and explained as part of the tour. I stayed in Hotel finca del cafe (was reviewed separately) and took a 4.5 hours coffee tour with an excellent English speaking guide. The tour takes you through all the stages of growing coffee and producing it or as they call it "from the bean to the cup". You will learn about different kind of plants, how to germinate them, cultivate them, the process of picking them up and how the difference methods of drying the beans effect the grade of the coffee. Walking through the lush plantation you will get to know the flora and fauna of the regain, the history of the people, traditions and costumes as well as personal stories and experiences that together will open a door to the coffee culture of Colombia. We visited Cafe del Fiinca earlier on today and found it to be excellent from start to finish with the whole tour lasting between 2.5 to 3 hours , we were initially met by the owner who showed us round the accommodation , beautifully set out with individual artwork to each room while the grounds and swimming pool overlook the fantastic countryside around the coffee farm. We then met our guide for the morning tour , Luis Eduardo, as well as the other guests and we started the tour with an explanation of the logo for the coffee area before taking us on an extensive tour if the coffee farm , set in approx 12 hectares with Luis explaing the whole process from start ro finish as well as describing the surrounding flora and fauna and the way this all interacts with the coffee process. We completed the tour by grinding the beans we had picked on the way and then being shown the roasting process followed by a further sample of the freshly roasted and brewed coffee before returning to where we had started where the host served us a delicious cold coffee and lemon drink. When you arrive, you are greeted by Nelly, the owner of the coffee farm, a charming women of many talents. In addition to growing coffee, she is also a painter, an interior designer, and even an inventor of a delicious cold drink - coffee lemonade. First, you are offered a cup of coffee, which is a nice touch comparing to other farms, where you need to wait to the end before you get one. The tour takes good 3 hours and includes a 1.25 mile walk through the farm, the plantation fields, the bamboo forest, the little piece of rainforest along a little creek and more. The guide Eduardo is an agricultural engineer and he is happy to tell you everything about coffee and about many other plants that play a role in the process of growing coffee and in the whole culture of coffee in Columbia. The explanations are detailed and thorough. The walk is very pleasant and refreshing. With a bit of going up and down, it's a little bit of a workout for the hiking fans. Not terribly hard though. At the end, after learning everything there is to know about coffee, you will see the traditional method of roasting, grinding, and preparing coffee, and you get to enjoy your second cup of coffee, followed by a glass of cold and refreshing coffee lemonade. The farm also has a small boutique hotel with a salt water pool, jacuzzi, and 8 beautifully decorated guest rooms. We already set our eyes on it as a candidate for our next relaxing vacation. The tranquility of this place makes it a perfect escape from the crazy world that we live in. We highly recommend this place - for a coffee tour, or for a nice relaxing vacation in the middle of the coffee region. Looking for relaxing plans in Pereira ? On this tour,  we'll visit a coffee farm and the Santa Rosa de Cabal Hot Springs . One of the most famous spas in Colombia's coffee region !

The thermal pools recieve water from various waterfalls

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up in front of the Church of San José and, from this point in Pereira, travel to a farm in the Colombian coffee-growing region .

Once we arrive at the farm, we'll visit its crops . During the tour, we'll see the coffee plants and learn how the coffee beans are harvested and roasted until a perfect product is obtained. This is undoubtedly one of the symbols of Colombian identity . We'll also discover its origins!

After visiting the coffee plantation, we'll continue our excursion to the  Santa Rosa de Cabal Hot Springs . This is one of the most popular hot springs in the region . Its waters come from different waterfalls such as the Santa Helena waterfall , one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the region.

You'll have 5 hours of free time  to enjoy the spa pools , whose waters can reach 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) . You can also take the opportunity to refuel in the thermal centre's facilities - a perfect opportunity to sample the local food!

We stayed one night and regret that we didn't arrive earlier and stay longer. Luz is an amazing host who welcomed us and made us feel as though we were at home. Very knowledgeable about the local area in Santa Rosa de Cabal and is excellent source of knowledge on all things of coffee culture in the region. Beautiful room and pool and set amongst a picturesque coffee farm definitely stay here if you are passing by. We arrived after being to Parque del Cafe in Quindio and i would recommend skipping it and take the coffee tour here instead. Hello, we hope your next time here, your stay will be longer for sharing more. We want show you our coffee culture and local gastronomy. Many thanks for its comment. Best regards, Luz Nelly

Beautiful views, comfortable settings, and delicious food. My family of 4, wife and 2 kids - 6 & 12, spent 3 glorious nights - the staff provided personalized service, we had all we needed from big screen tv to watch olympics, to wifi. Highly recommend visiting.

Estamos felices que Uds. hayan podido disfrutar en familia de nuestra hospitalidad en medio de este maravilloso paisaje con aroma a café. Esperamos que regresen pronto. Cordial Saludo, Luz Nelly

The property and pool are stunning, the rooms are modern and comfortable and the staff are all top notch. Luz is an amazing host often sitting down to eat with guests and making sure everything about your trip is great. We also took the coffee tour with Carlos, a perfect guide who made the whole experience great. Highly recommend and will hopefully make it back here some day.

The place is incredible. The location only minutes by taxi from center of Santa Rosa - 6000 Pesos (2$). Rooms are clean, comfortable , Romantic, quite and with a lot of nature. The owner - she is so sweet, Passionate and you should take the coffee tour with her!! She explains in details all coffee process. You can eat there all meals (delicious food by the pool with the view) Best place to stay in the area by far with an amazing owner and service!!

I enjoyed three days at the finca del cafe and had a fantastic time. Luz is a great host and the place has a very cosy embiance. You feel like being part of the family. The finca is located on a hill with a nice view into the green highlands. You can perfectly combine the different sights around Pereira (termales, leisure park 'Parc de Cafe', Salento & Valle deal Cocora). The finca has its own coffee plantation as well and Carlos is an entertaining guide! We will definitely come back!

• L5869FXmar_ac 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Very interesting tour A very interesting farm coffee. The tour starts with a cup of coffee from the farm.
