On the heels of announcing a string of back-to-back tour dates in Europe and the U.K., Fred Again has announced new dates in the United States. The trek will include a record-setting eight-night residency at Los Angeles’ Shrine Expo Hall that kicks off on Oct. 24 and ends on Nov. 2.

He will additionally play Miami’s III Points festival on Oct. 20 and deliver three back-to-back sets in New York’s Forest Hills Stadium, another first for the venue.

The North American dates are part of Fred Again’s just announced tour that will kick off a string of four shows in London’s Alexandra Palace (September 4-5, 6, 8), followed by shows in Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, and Paris.

He’s also set to play a long list of festivals, with the next in line being Glastonbury on June 23 and the Netherlands’ Down the Rabbit Hole Festival on June 30. The DJ and producer is also fresh off a surprise headlining set at Coachella alongside Skrillex and Four Tet.

Fred Again.. Announces Upcoming Tour, Reveals NYC & LA Show Dates

The record-breaking tour dates for Fred Again.. include three NYC stops and an 8-show run at LA’s Shine Expo Hall.

It has just been announced that Fred Again.. will be performing to an estimated 40,000 fans in New York City, and an additional 40,000 in Los Angeles, across a combined 11 total nights at two venues. From Oct. 12 through Oct. 14, Fred will deliver three nights at the Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, NY, followed by a historic, record-breaking, 8-night run at the Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles on Oct. 24 & 25, 27-29, 31, and Nov. 1-2.

The announcements of his North American shows come following the news that Fred is set to headline Miami’s III Points Festival, which celebrates their 10 th anniversary this October. The latest string of tour date announcements began on Fred’s social media when he let his fans know he would be playing four nights at one of his all-time favorite (and hometown) venues, Alexandra Palace (Ally Pally) in September. Fred’s additional international Sept. dates include the Mercedes Benz Arena in Berlin, a 2-night stint at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome, Palais 12 in Brussels, and two nights at Zenith in Paris.

Fred’s recent milestones include historic headline shows with Skrillex and Four Tet at Madison Square Garden, which sold out in a record-breaking matter of minutes, to a 360-in-the-round closing set at the Coachella 2023 main stage, following headliners Blink-182.

How Fred Again Pulled Off His First-Ever Stadium Show

The British musician Fred again .. is best known for creating intimate listening experiences at scale. He gained critical and fan acclaim for his 2021 project Actual Life, where he composed original tracks using an array of sonic fragments, ranging from voice memos and snippets from social media to bits and pieces of sounds from other artists. He described the project at the time as something of a diary of the beginning of the pandemic, a period when the whole world was seeking connection in digital space. Since then, he’s dropped two sequels to Actual Life and brought his expansive style of electronic music to massive IRL crowds around the world. You’ve likely seen fan-recorded clips scattered across social media. Entry points include: Fred again.. alongside Skrillex performing in Times Square ; Fred again.., Four Tet, and Skrillex at a sold-out Madison Square Garden ; or Fred’s Boiler Room set , one of the site’s most viewed of all time.

“The first secret was to find a stadium without a roof!” explains Jamie Tinsley, who runs sound for all of Fred’s live shows. “Roofs are nearly always put over the audience area, mainly for weather protection and the ability to add lighting and other technology. However, they’re also acoustically designed to reflect the audience’s cheers back down onto the pitch to create a louder live atmosphere. This is our number one nightmare when trying to manage sound reflections in large music venues.”

The L.A. Coliseum’s unobstructed, open-air design made for the perfect large-scale venue for what Fred and his team had in mind. “As soon as we got there, it’s so powerfully understated — just red seats. There’s almost no adverts or anything. All you could see was just red seats,” Fred says. “The fact that it’s this slow incline as opposed to the seats being sharp and high means that most of the [sound] reflections are going out as opposed to bouncing back in.”

But sound wasn’t the only concern. Fred’s ethos throughout his ascent these past few years has been a genuine connection with fans, whether via the smaller, more intimate shows he enjoys playing at Corsica Studios in London or in the elaborate arena shows that have grown monumentally popular in a short time. “I think the challenge to me at the Coliseum was I really wanted to find ways that I could connect as much as possible to people in this vast space,” Fred explains. “Which is why we did that thing — Lucy and I call it the moat — we built this thing all the way around that I could walk along. That meant I could walk to the different stages.”

Lucy Hickling, Fred’s creative director, didn’t want to lose the essence of the shows they’ve done thus far, which have cultivated a sense of intimacy that audiences have come to appreciate in post-pandemic nightlife. ”I think the thing that makes a Fred show, and always has made it so special, is that closeness that everyone has and everyone feels like they’re all in it together. I think it’s been such a quick journey that it would be such a shame to lose that feeling, especially so early on in the relativity of his entire career to come,” she says. “We worked with Human Person, who are a design team, who are amazing and so great and took on every idea that we had so well and made it even better each time.”

“And then we built another stage as well, which mirrored the same design, and that’s where the more complex songs were played, and then obviously Fred did the MPC where he battled Tony and they used two opposite sides of the moat,” Hickling continues. “There were six spots that Fred performed in throughout as well as walking around the entire circumference of the stadium.” 

It was an intimate experience for the performers, too. “I think the way that we set up the performance of ‘Strong,’ Fred and I kind of start the performance singing, facing each other and with the eye contact and the intimacy between us,” Romy says of performing her collaboration with Fred. “That kind of created this kind of intimate world where it felt like it was just Fred and I there, especially when you’re listening with the in-ears. So it felt quite like a surreal dream to be in the middle of this 360-degree world of people around us.”

The singer-songwriter, who is also one half of the electronic duo the xx, admits they were initially nervous, “but there was that kind of safety that I feel between, the confidence that Fred gives me, I feel like we’ve got this together,” she says. “Then when [the beat] finally dropped and I was just dancing around, just really taking it in and just looking around and trying to connect with people and seeing different people’s reactions, it was really special and something very unique to be able to perform that song in the round like that. A very, very dreamlike scenario, to be honest.”

When it came down to actually putting together a set list, Fred says there was no real methodology; instead, he was focused on making sure he could move around the various stages. “It was more just like I wanted to work out a set list that hopefully wasn’t too stop-start that allowed me to move around,” he says. “How could we play in five different locations and try and keep the momentum in the right place?”

Jenn Yacoubian, executive vice president of Goldenvoice, who has worked with Fred for several years, says it was unlike any other event she’s seen in her career as a promoter. “I think they were so intentional about sound right from the first walk-through. We did follow-up walk-throughs and brought in different sound engineers and experts like, ‘OK, how can we make it sound and have that experience of sounding as incredible as it would have in a thousand-cap room?’” she explains. “It was unlike any kind of other large-scale show I’ve seen where even that far up you felt just right in the middle of it because of the sound.”

With this latest feat now behind them, Fred and his team are taking a well-earned breather, but the wheels are already turning on what kinds of challenges they might want to tackle next. “We did this show two days before the Coliseum for like 150 people in the stands of the Coliseum; I just played very stripped-down music for the OG people who were at the first shows and stuff like that,” Fred says. “We all found that show really eye-opening. That was a really beautiful energy. So I’m thinking about working out a way of doing more of that vibe as well.”

Anderson .Paak Is Taking His Beloved ‘Malibu’ Album On Tour With The Free Nationals

Anderson .Paak has had a busy year. He launched the second season of his .Paak House Radio show on Apple Music 1, and appeared on songs with the Free Nationals (“ Gangsta “), SiR (“ Poetry In Motion “), Fred Again… (“ Places To Be “), and Kaytranada (“ Do 2 Me ” which also features SiR), all while preparing the release of his and Knxwledge’s NxWorries comeback Why Lawd? . But he’s not done yet.

Today, he announced the dates for the Malibu Tour , on which he plans to perform his album of the same name. The tour begins on September 18, supported by Free Nationals, and tickets go on sale beginning Friday, June 28, at 9 AM local time. Artist presale begins on Wednesday, June 26 at 9 AM local time. Journey to celebrate 50th anniversary with 30 shows in 2024: See where they're headed

Journey is continuing the celebration of its five-decade career with a run of 2024 shows.

The 50 th Anniversary Freedom Tour kicks off Feb. 9 in Biloxi, Mississippi and will play 30 dates in North America through April 29 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. local time on Sept. 29 via ticketmaster.com.

Toto, which supported Journey on their tour earlier this year to celebrate their "Freedom" album, will again join Journey founder, guitarist Neal Scho n, keyboardist Jonathan Cain, lead singer Arnel Pineda, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, drummer Deen Castronovo and bassist Todd Jensen as show openers.

Journey's tour finds the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers tearing through a set list of anthems including "Any Way You Want It," "Faithfully," "Be Good to Yourself" and, of course, "Don't Stop Believin'."

When "Freedom" arrived in July 2022, Schon told USA Today that the album title was originally tapped for the band's 1986 release, "Raised on Radio," but then-singer Steve Perry didn't like it, "so we sat on it for many years … when we were tossing around album titles said, why not just call the whole thing 'Freedom?' It's for the times right now."

Schon was also sanguine when reflecting on the band’s legacy.

"It’s quite an accomplishment and I’m very proud of what we’ve done and how we’ve gotten through emotional and personnel changes and survived," he said. "It’s pretty mind-boggling but also a lot of hard work."

Willie Nelson cancels tour performances after illness

Country music icon Willie Nelson announced Wednesday that he will not be performing at a scheduled tour stop in Virginia Beach, according to a message posted  on the singer's Facebook page .

The cancellation comes after Nelson, who turned 91 in April, canceled his first scheduled performances in his  Outlaw Music Festival Tour  because of illness last week. 

"We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctor's orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days," according to a statement posted on social media June 21. "He is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week."

The Outlaw Music Festival, founded in part by Nelson, kicked off in Georgia. That was among the performances the singer missed, citing doctor's orders.

On Wednesday, the singer announced the latest cancellation. "Willie Nelson will not be performing at tonight's show in Virginia Beach," the Facebook post says. "We expect Willie to return to the tour shortly." 

The lineup of the Outlaw Music Festival tour includes other big names who were still scheduled to perform Wednesday, including Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, and Celisse. Nelson's son, Lukas Nelson, and his band composed of other family members will also play their own set, along with some of Nelson's classics, the statement said. 

At 91, Nelson has been busy in recent years releasing new music, touring and collaborating with some of the biggest names in music. He released an album in May called "The Border," had a couple of cameos in Beyoncé's "Cowboy Carter" country album and, last year, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame , where he performed with Chris Stapleton, Sheryl Crow and Dave Matthews.

"I haven't quit," Nelson told "CBS Mornings" last year . "Maybe I should, but … after every tour. I said, this is it. And then get the urge again to go back." 

Lincoln hit again by severe weather, leaving damage across much of the city

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Severe weather late Monday night into early Tuesday morning left a swath of destruction across the Capital City.

The storms pushed through Lincoln shortly after 11 p.m. Just before midnight, the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for southwestern Lancaster County, which was soon extended as the cell moved across southern Lincoln. At one point, the NWS reported a confirmed tornado touching down just south of Pioneers Park.

As the storm moved out of the county, the extent of the damage began to emerge. Northeast Lincoln appeared to be hit hard, with an entire awning knocked over at the Stop N’ Shop (Phillips 66) at 48th and Garland.

Large trees were down in several areas between 48th and 70th streets, from Fremont to Holdrege streets.

Flash flooding also occurred in several areas of Lincoln, including downtown on O Street, 9th and Garber streets, 48th and Cornhusker streets, and 27th and Superior streets.

Wimbledon 2024 is set to begin: Here's the schedule and how to watch

The eyes of the tennis world will turn to England next week when Wimbledon, which was first held in 1877, takes place. The third of the four annual major events in professional tennis — the Australian Open, the French Open and the U.S. Open being the others — this year promises no shortage of backhands, memorable volleys and top stars battling it out for one of the sport’s most prestigious titles.

Last year, Carlos Alcaraz won his first Wimbledon title on the men’s side, while Marketa Vondrousova won on the women’s side for her first Grand Slam victory. Both will be on hand this year to defend their respective titles.

Here’s what you need to know about Wimbledon 2024.

What is the Wimbledon 2024 schedule?

Wimbledon runs over the course of two weeks, from July 1 through July 14. The ladies' singles final is set for Saturday, July 13, while the gentlemen’s singles final is scheduled for Sunday, July 14. The entire schedule for the men’s and women’s sides, as well as the doubles fields, can be found here .

Who are the top seeds at Wimbledon 2024?

Italy's Jannik Sinner, the No. 1 player in the world who won his first Grand Slam at the Australian Open earlier this year, is atop the gentlemen's singles draw, followed by Novak Djokovic, Alcaraz, Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev. The highest-seeded American player is Tommy Paul, at No. 12.

The ladies' draw features Poland's Iga Swiatek — the top-ranked player in the world — as the No. 1 seed, followed by Coco Gauff , Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina and Jessica Pegula. Gauff and Pegula are the highest-ranking American women competing.

Vondrousova, who became the first unseeded player to win the ladies’ singles tournament in 2023, is the sixth seed.

How to watch Wimbledon

“Through 33 broadcast agreements, in 2024 The Championships will be transmitted to over 200 territories around the world,” the Wimbledon website says .

ESPN will offer exclusive live coverage of the event, including every match from every court live, across ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+.

ABC will also carry live matches on July 6 and July 7, while fans can also stream all matches from all courts live in their entirety on ESPN+, which will also offer on-demand replays.

The ladies’ and gentlemen’s championships will air respectively on July 13 and July 14 at 9 a.m. ET on ESPN, ESPN+ and ESPN Deportes.

Tennis Channel will provide nightly coverage of the tournament as well. For the week of July 1, it will offer coverage for six hours each night beginning at 5 p.m. ET. Coverage for the second week will take place at 4 p.m. ET July 9 and July 10 and 3 p.m. ET on July 11 and July 12. On July 13 and July 14, the network’s coverage will start at 6 p.m. ET.

An Overview of the IELTS

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is designed to measure English proficiency for educational, vocational and immigration purposes. The IELTS measures an individual's ability to communicate in English across four areas of language: listening , reading , writing and speaking . The IELTS is administered jointly by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge English Language Assessment at over 1,100 test centres and 140 countries. These test centres supervise the local administration of the test and recruit, train and monitor IELTS examiners.

IELTS tests are available on 48 fixed dates each year, usually Saturdays and sometimes Thursdays, and may be offered up to four times a month at any test centre, including Elektrostal' depending on local needs. Go to IELTS test locations to find a test centre in or nearby Elektrostal' and to check for upcoming test dates at your test centre.

Test results are available online 13 days after your test date. You can either receive your Test Report Form by post or collect it from the Test Centre. You will normally only receive one copy of the Test Report Form, though you may ask for a second copy if you are applying to the UK or Canada for immigration purposes - be sure to specify this when you register for IELTS. You may ask for up to 5 copies of your Test Report Form to be sent directly to other organisations, such as universities.

There are no restrictions on re-sitting the IELTS. However, you would need to allow sufficient time to complete the registration procedures again and find a suitable test date.
