"Il ne vient pas de nulle part": que faut-il penser des performances de Pogacar sur ce Tour de France 2024?

Rendez-vous maintenant en 2025? Déjà bien entamé après le coup de maître réussi par Tadej Pogacar sur les pentes du Pla d'Adet, le suspense pour la victoire finale s’est peut-être envolé pour de bon, ce dimanche, à l’issue de la 15e étape du Tour de France. "Ça commence à sentir bon", a même reconnu le feu follet slovène de 25 ans, après avoir coupé la ligne en patron dans la chaleur du Plateau de Beille. Un aveu qui en dit long sur son degré de confiance, alors qu’il se rapproche plus que jamais d’un doublé Giro-Tour plus réalisé depuis Marco Pantani en 1998. Après lui avoir lâché trente-neuf secondes lors du premier gros morceau pyrénéen, Jonas Vingegaard a cette fois été relégué à plus d’une minute de son éternel rival. Il avait pourtant promis une réaction et a bien tenté de relancer le bras de fer.

Le plan prévoyait de faire rouler ses hommes tout au long de cette nouvelle journée en enfer, courue à un rythme effréné, avec un total de 197,7km, pas moins de 4.800m de dénivelé, des pentes raides à souhait et un final comme prévu démoniaque au Plateau de Beille (15,8km, 7,9%). C’est au pied de ce col hors catégorie que son cerbère Matteo Jorgenson a haussé un peu plus le ton pour essorer ce qui restait du groupe des favoris, et tenter d’enrayer la machine UAE Emirates. A dix bornes du but, "Vingo", dans son inhabituel maillot blanc à pois rouges, a lui-même actionné le mode offensif en plaçant une attaque à l’orgueil, sans créer le moindre écart. Le porte-bagages danois était tellement confortable que Pogacar s’y est accroché une poignée de minutes, prenant le temps de lâcher son guidon pour se rafraîchir, avant d’envoyer un contre fulgurant à 5,4km du sommet. Rideau, affaire réglée.

La Visma dit "chapeau"

Loin de la partie de poker menteur des premières heures de ce Tour, et des coups de bluff sur les états de forme des uns et des autres, la Visma-Lease a bike ne peut aujourd’hui que s’incliner et rendre les armes. D'une implacable sérénité, Pogacar paraît intouchable et son dauphin, lourdement blessé il y a trois mois au Pays basque, ressemble désormais à un frelon en panne de venin, incapable de porter le coup de dard fatal. "On venait pour prendre l'étape et gratter un peu de temps mais ça n'a pas été le cas. Pogacar était plus fort que Jonas. Chapeau, ils ont une bonne avance maintenant. Il faut qu'on l'accepte, qu'on soit fier de ce qu'on a montré et qu'on reconnaisse que quelqu'un d'autre est plus fort", s’inclinait Grischa Niermann, directeur sportif de Vingegaard.

Le discours se voulait sensiblement identique pour Remco Evenepoel, troisième de l’étape et du classement général, conscient d’évoluer dans une autre cour que le roi de ce Tour. "C'est clair que Tadej est le meilleur du monde, résumait le Belge. Jonas n'est pas trop loin mais je pense que Tadej est plus fort que Jonas pour le moment. Et puis il y a moi. Je pense que je suis le meilleur du reste mais le Tour n'est pas encore fini. Il y a encore des belles étapes et des grandes étapes très dures à passer." Mauro Gianetti, lui, préférait temporiser, le manager de Pogacar évoquant une dernière semaine "terrible". "Aujourd’hui, c’était une étape difficile, Jonas a montré un grand panache, il a tout essayé. Tadej a pu profiter du travail fourni par Visma, il a pu suivre dans le final et est parti quand Jonas a eu une petite faiblesse. On savait que Tadej était plus en forme que l’an passé, il a fait des petits changements dans son entraînement. Jonas a aussi eu un grave accident. Ce qu’il fait est déjà exceptionnel. Le Tour est-il gagné ? Non, il reste de la route", insistait le dirigeant suisse.

"Pogacar ne vient pas de nulle part"

En attendant, devant ce genre de performance maousse, et dans un sport qui échappe rarement au poids du soupçon, certaines questions risquent inévitablement de ressurgir. "Le sport de haut niveau appelle toujours à se poser des questions. Mais Pogacar ne vient pas de nulle part. Il marche et il a des résultats depuis qu'il est jeune. Ce n’est une surprise pour personne. C'est un grand champion. Les grands champions font toujours la différence et sont toujours au-dessus de tout le monde. Moi j'y crois", répondait Nicolas Guillé, directeur sportif de Decathlon-AG2R La Mondiale. "Quand je les vois passer (Pogacar et Vingegaard), je me dis que ça va vite... Je ne sais pas si c'est moi qui suis en dessous d'un niveau que j’ai pu atteindre par le passé ou simplement que le niveau des premiers s'est encore élevé... Je ne vais pas trop me prononcer mais en tout c'est clair qu'il y a encore un monde d'écart", glissait de son côté le grimpeur de Cofidis, Guillaume Martin, au micro de France 2.

Relancé au sujet du suspense possiblement balayé à une semaine du final à Nice, Nicolas Guillé précisait: "Tout le monde sait que la troisième semaine est très difficile. On sait que Pogacar est le meilleur de tous. Quand il est bien, on sait qu'il peut faire la différence, même à la sortie d'un Giro. L'an dernier, il a été dans le mal sur une étape. Il suffit d'une étape... Il a pris du temps, il est avec une grosse équipe. Ça me paraît difficile de le détrôner mais il reste un humain. Il peut toujours se passer des choses dans la troisième semaine. Hier, la Visma s'est pris une claque. Aujourd'hui, ils ont voulu remettre les compteurs à zéro. Il faut s'attendre à ce qu'ils réagissent."

Là où beaucoup le jugent hors du coup pour le maillot jaune, la faute à la fois au niveau affiché par l’ogre de Komenda et à sa propre préparation tronquée liée à ses séquelles du printemps, les soutiens de Vingegaard rêvent encore de le voir transfiguré lors d’une troisième semaine théoriquement taillée pour lui, avec notamment l’étape d’Isola vendredi. "Sauf cataclysme, le podium ne devrait pas bouger", assure toutefois notre consultant Jérôme Coppel, pas étonné par le feu d’artifice proposé par Pogacar.

"Difficile de comparer"

"Il a eu quatre semaines entre le Giro et le Tour, c’est un bloc qui permet de récupérer et de refaire du jus. Je suis davantage surpris par le niveau de Vingegaard, qui n’a eu qu’un mois pour se réentraîner. C’est normal que Pogacar soit au-dessus. Il est plus fort que les deux dernières années, mais l’écart est un peu fossé par la forme physique de Vingegaard. J’aimerais voir un Tour de France avec les deux au top", appuie-t-il. Avant de développer sa pensée au sujet des éventuels doutes d’une partie du public et des observateurs.

"Il faut se poser des questions. On ne vit pas dans les équipes, on ne sait pas ce qui se passe, mais se poser des questions ne veut pas dire accuser sans preuve ou à tort et à travers. Surtout, il faut faire dire les bonnes choses aux datas et donner les infos les plus complètes possibles. Quand j’entends samedi que Pogacar a mis deux minutes au record de l’ascension (au Pla d’Adet), c’est vrai, mais il faut préciser qu’ils sont 13 coureurs à avoir battu ce record. Il faut aussi préciser que les vélos font deux kilos de moins qu’avant, que les préparations sont plus spécifiques… C’est difficile de comparer des temps d’ascension entre des étapes qui n’étaient peut-être pas identiques, qui ne se sont peut-être pas courues de la même manière… C’est dans notre nature de comparer. Chacun peut se faire son idée, on peut ne pas être d'accord, mais est-ce qu’il faut ne plus croire au vélo? Je ne crois pas", répond Coppel.

Tour de France 2024: le classement général des coureurs et des équipes après la 15e étape

Tadej Pogacar a assommé le Tour de France en remportant en solitaire dimanche la 15e étape au Plateau de Beille avec plus d'une minute d'avance sur Jonas Vingegaard. Au classement général, le Slovène compte désormais 3 minutes 09 d'avance sur son grand rival danois qu'il a décroché à 5,4 km du sommet.

C'est déjà la troisième victoire d'étape dans ce Tour pour Pogacar, la 14e au total et la deuxième en deux jours dans les Pyrénées où il semble avoir tué tout suspense avant même la dernière semaine et le final dans les Alpes. Le leader d'UAE, qui vise un doublé Giro-Tour inédit depuis 1998, a construit sa victoire en deux temps lors de cette étape très difficile, courue sous une forte chaleur, avec cinq grands cols au programme.

At the snout of Mer de Glace, two options for returning to Chamonix exist. Traditionally, the cable car from the glacier connects you to the Montenvers train, then Chamonix. With excellent snow conditions, skiing down to the valley is possible. A walk of about 25 minutes with an elevation gain of 200 meters is required to reach Mottets Hut at 1,650m before continuing on skis.

The Vallee Blanche is undoubtedly, the most famous off-piste ski itinerary in the French Alps taking place on glaciers at high altitude. The Vallée Blanche is skiable from mid-December to early Mai. It   requires the ability to ski black slopes and some experience of skiing  on the edges of the pistes to fully enjoy what is on offer. The Vallée Blanche is no exception; if you've skied this route before, you're likely to be very surprised. The crevasses are more present than before and wide slopes have given way to cramped passages. A private booking is the historic relationship between a guide and their clients. It allows you to be alone or in a group of friends with your guide where the guide organizes your outing to suit your specific needs. It is undoubtedly the ideal formula to ski the route of your choise. 

For snowboarders : Due to the natural configuration of the glaciers, the classic route of the Vallée Blanche is not very steep and therefore is not recommended for snowboarders. Several steeper variants (Petit et Moyen Envers du Plan for example) are better adapted for snowboarders. The level required for these variants is equivalent to that of a black slope in off-slope conditions (changing and deep snow). Telescopic poles are mandatory to help your descent on the final part of the glacier.

Route (private booking) : La Vallée Blanche offers several routes (Classic, Petit Envers, Moyen Envers, etc.). The route will be chosen based on conditions and your expectations. This reservation includes only the descent of Vallée Blanche. Typically, the return to Chamonix takes place in the early afternoon. If you wish to extend your exploration of the Valley with your guide, please make a reservation through our off-piste skiing page , specifying that you want to ski Vallée Blanche and then explore another site.

UN TERROIR PRIVILÉGIÉ

L’Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée Sauternes s’étend sur environ 2 000 hectares et comprend cinq communes : Barsac, Bommes, Fargues, Preignac et Sauternes. Cette région viticole offre un paysage vallonné, où les collines semblent s’être complaisamment exposées aux rayons du soleil. C’est ce qui explique que le domaine de La Tour Blanche, comme la plupart des Crus Classés de l’appellation, se situe sur une «croupe». Il culmine à 60 mètres au-dessus du niveau de la mer. Cet avantage favorise une meilleure exposition des vignes, un plus grand drainage des terres, et permet de bénéficier de sols très intéressants. Ces anciennes terres alluviales de la Garonne offrent en effet une surface graveleuse et un sous-sol argilo-calcaire, qui donnent un caractère particulier aux vins produits.

TROIS CÉPAGES TRADITIONNELS

Les trois cépages blancs traditionnels du vignoble de l’Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée Sauternes sont le Sémillon, le Sauvignon Blanc et la Muscadelle. Ils se retrouvent en bonnes proportions au Château La Tour Blanche : 83% de Sémillon, 12% de Sauvignon Blanc et 5% de Muscadelle. Chacune de ces variétés de raisin offrira au vin ses particularités et son propre caractère, dans un assemblage harmonieux et toujours unique. Le Sémillon lui confère sa structure, sa belle couleur dorée, et ses arômes de fruits secs, de fruits confits et de miel. Le Sauvignon Blanc produit un vin très fin, corsé, très aromatique, et apporte une belle fraicheur à l’assemblage. La Muscadelle, quant à elle, participe au style unique des vins produits par la propriété, en apportant une complexité aromatique supplémentaire grâce à son délicat parfum de grain de muscat et ses notes exotiques et épicées.

UNE CONDUITE TRÈS RIGOUREUSE DU VIGNOBLE

«On ne fait du bon vin qu’avec de bons raisins». Suivant cet adage, l’équipe du Château La Tour Blanche sait qu’un grand millésime se fait tout d’abord à la vigne. Et ceci tout au long de l’année. Outre les conditions météorologiques, toujours aléatoires, c’est une conduite très rigoureuse du vignoble qui détermine la qualité du raisin, donc celle du vin. En accord avec les préoccupations écologiques actuelles, le Château La Tour Blanche a d’ores et déjà engagé de nombreuses démarches pour améliorer ses performances environnementales. En parallèle des directives des pouvoirs publics, la propriété s’est imposée un cahier des charges exigeant en matière de développement durable. Depuis quelques années elle a pris les devants, à travers des actions concrètes comme le retraitement des effluents, la pulvérisation confinée ou encore de nombreuses expérimentations, notamment en ce qui concerne la protection du vignoble menée selon les méthodes de l’agriculture biologique. Ces choix ambitieux qui unissent le château et son environnement sont apparus tout naturellement et ont conduit à des reconnaissances concrètes ; en effet, le Château La Tour Blanche est certifié HVE 3 (Hautes Valeurs Environnementales) et est membre de la première association pour le Système de Management Environnemental (SME) du Vin de Bordeaux certifiée ISO 14001.

Les Vendanges

LA POURRITURE NOBLE

La période des vendanges est sûrement celle que le viticulteur appréhende le plus. Après avoir bien travaillé toute l’année, il doit s’en remettre au bon vouloir et à la clémence de la météo. Dans le Sauternais, peut-être plus qu’ailleurs, l’influence de cette dernière est primordiale. L’emplacement géographique unique de l’appellation est déjà à l’origine d’un certain microclimat. En effet, la rencontre entre la Garonne, fleuve chaud, et le Ciron, un de ses affluents qui lui est froid, favorise la présence de brouillards matinaux dès la fin du mois d’août.

À l’époque des beaux jours ensoleillés du début de l’automne, ces brouillards apportent l’humidité dont l’action combinée avec celle de la chaleur de la journée facilite le développement du  botrytis cinerea . Ce champignon microscopique se développe à la surface de la baie et pénètre à l’intérieur grâce à son mycélium, provoquant ce que l’on appelle la Pourriture Noble. Les grains, au stade de maturité physiologique, se parent tout d’abord de tâches brunes. Puis ils changent complètement de couleur et sont recouverts d’une sorte de velours protecteur ; ils sont dits «pourris pleins». Enfin, du fait de la complète évaporation de l’eau, ils se flétrissent et atteignent le stade «rôtis» ou «pourris confits», car ils ont l’aspect et surtout le goût d’un fruit confit. Ce n’est qu’à partir de ce moment que l’on peut procéder à la cueillette.

UNE RÉCOLTE SUR MESURE Au Château La Tour Blanche, comme dans toute l’appellation, les vendanges se font par «tries» successives. C’est à dire que les vendangeurs passent plusieurs fois dans les rangs (quatre à six fois en moyenne) pour ne cueillir, à chacun de leurs passages, que les grappes ou les parties de grappes, voire les grains, sur lesquels le botrytis a eu une action suffisante. Du fait d’un rythme de travail irrégulier, en fonction de la météo et du développement de la pourriture, une trentaine de jours, dans une période de près de deux mois, sont nécessaires pour effectuer la récolte. On comprendra aisément pourquoi la machine à vendanger n’aura jamais sa place ici, du fait de cette sélection sévère et très pointue pratiquée à la main, à même le pied de vigne.

Tous les efforts et la patience apportés à un pied de vigne durant tout le temps du développement ne produira que la quantité d’un verre de ce précieux vin. La rareté au Château La Tour Blanche a un sens. Vous y penserez lors de votre dégustation.

La Tour-Blanche-Cercles is a town in Dordogne , in Aquitaine region Nova, 35 km northwest of Perigueux.

It was established in January 1, 2017 following the merger of La Tour Blanche, the seat (406 inhabitants) and Circles (200 inhabitants), and therefore has just over 600 inhabitants.

The territory of 23 square kilometers is crossed by Julie, a tributary of the Dronne, and has a green and discreetly hilly landscape, acting transition space between green and Périgord Charente .

The two villages share a unified now already common history. Dependent Perigord in the early Middle Ages, occupied by British troops during the Hundred Years War, The Tower and White Circles incorporate a castellany attached to the fourteenth Angoumois. It was not until the Revolution that they found Perigord and be included in the new department of Dordogne.

Rich of heritage interest and unspoilt rural setting, the two villages have a leisure offer expanded. La Tour-Blanche-Cercles thus reveals a stage of interest during a stay in this rich and greedy tourist area...

Geographical information

Nearest cities & towns, things to see and do.

Several sites and buildings in the new town testify to a rich past and prove interesting heritage elements to discover.

A circuit can start with the castle of La Tour Blanche , built from the tenth to the twelfth century on a hill, with local materials (lime stone, tiles). Despite a fire in a wing that was still inhabited in 2015, it remains the facades of parties to the regular style (possibly revised) and especially a square tower pierced with loopholes deemed as one of the oldest in France. The assembly is protected as historical monuments. The property is private and restoration is underway. One can however admire all from the road.

In the hamlet of Jonvelle, the ruins of the eponymous castle are also protected (dating from the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries), and can be added again, this time better preserved Manor Nanchapt also called Castle Roumailhac. This noble house whose construction was completed in 1617, was restored in the eighteenth and is characterized by two main buildings at right angles indicated by a tower with a staircase leading to the two wings.

Always on the village of Tour-Blanche, on the religious level, the early Gothic church had been burned down during the Wars of Religion, it was replaced by a former hospital chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Recluse and became the church of St. Peter and St. Paul. At the end of the sixteenth century, a square bell tower was added. We still notice at a counter outside a niche containing a statue of the Madonna, proof that the old hospital welcomed the pilgrims.

A dovecote seventeenth century cylindrical and has a conical roof, dormers housing the bearers (niches for pigeons) is also worth visiting, as is the beautiful hall built in the eighteenth century attests to the commercial vocation town. Featuring wooden aisles, the building was once converted into a school and then hall before being restored in 2004 and to recover its original vocation.

In the village, finally, there will be a beautiful stone cross with a bas-relief of the sun and a star of five rays evoking the five wounds of Christ during the Passion.

On the old village of Circles, which is named after its circular shape, the most significant heritage element is the windmill of the White Lands, which dates from the fourteenth century and has been a successful restoration after its acquisition by the community. An association is responsible for its maintenance and animation of the site. The building can be admired freely all year but you can also visit the daily in July and August, weekends in May, June and September and by appointment the rest of the year. Price: € 1. Information +33 5 53 91 11 98. Note that flour is regularly produced and sold on the spot, as hiking trails start from the mill and a picnic area has been set nearby.

Three mansions are also seen in the village: the castle of Fongrenon (XVII), the manor of Bernerie (XVII) and the more ancient, the Calonie, with a dovecote, dating from the thirteenth century to its parts the oldest.

On the religious level, finally, Saint-Cybard church, classified in 1840 as historical monuments, was first included in a priory of the abbey of Angouleme. Dating back to the twelfth century, rebuilt since the Gothic style at the gate and vaults, it impresses with its fortified character: a crenellated tower, west side, adjacent to the church indeed shaped cross. Inside, there is also the arches of the nave, the choir and transept fall on thirty carved capitals.

In the southwest of the territory of the new town, is the last heritage element: Jovelle cave dug into the limestone, inside which were unearthed artifacts and rock carvings dating from the Paleolithic. The site is not accessible except for specialists, is doubly classified: it is protected under the classical monuments but also ecologically as six bat species have found refuge.

For leisure, we appreciate being able to visit La Tour Blanche no less than three museums remain housed in the same building.

The first is devoted to plumbing and presents some 1,000 objects tin (lanterns, kitchen utensils, chocolate pots, churns, decorated boxes of time...).

The second presents a collection of 300 stones and fossils found on five continents. Each room has a card stating his name and origin.

The third museum is dedicated to Records. These objects presented or reproduced by local artisans who were exposed during the Festival Records was once held in common. Both scenic and fun but sometimes very serious: some objects were written in the famous Guinness Book.

Natural side, Circles on the Limodore garden is dedicated to the different varieties of orchids available, whether natural or cultured, in the Perigord. Built on a plot of limestone plateau, dotted with small trees and lawns, the garden is maintained by volunteers. Visit in the spring flowering period from April to June on Wednesday and Saturday and the last Sunday in April and the second Sunday of May. By appointment outside these periods. Price: 4 euros. Most recently was also inaugurated the wild park, always at the ancient village of Circles. It offers a fun course dedicated to all audiences including robbery (hawks), an educational farm and observing wildlife areas (eg wolves). Open from April to the end of the All Saints holidays. A vertical tasting is an incredible experience, for a wine lover it is like the graal !  So, when Château La Tour Blanche, 1er Grand Cru Classé 1855 contacted me for a tasting about twenty vintages, I canceled everything to be present ! 

For this vertical tasting eighteen of the last vintages were opened : from 2018 to 2011 and two old vintages : 1976 and 1962. A crazy tasting ! 

The tasting :

Château La Tour Blanche 2018. Appellation Sauternes

Slightly hazy pale gold appearance ( which is normal for this age). First nose very expressive with hints of pineapple, fresh exotic fruits and quince. Beautiful tension of the blend revealing itself after aeration with a very light touch of white pepper.

On the palate we have a measured richness. The attack is sharp, quite light and fresh. The fruits take us into a part with a beautiful richness. Long length, there are a great quality and a great balance, according to the feeling with sugar. Some notes of honey and a lot of heat are perceptible in the finish. Nice potential.

There is a little bit more of muscadelle in this wine than other vintages ( 10%).

Château La Tour Blanche 2017. Appellation Sauternes

First nose with a beautiful opulence and a nice deepness.

On the palate it is a real explosion! A basket of exotic fruits marked by gourmet food. Quince, pineapple, peach, apricots…the blend is lovely balanced. The finish is long, rich, but also subtle. Light honey note in the finish. The nose needed aeration, the wine needs a little time. A very beautiful potential for this wine with multiple facets. A seductive one!

Château La Tour Blanche 2016. Appellation Sauternes

A fine and subtle first nose. A subtlety that gradually rises with agitation. Ordered texture on the palate. Here again we gradually go up, « step by step »!  D ominant notes of pineapple that slowly disappear. Lot of freshness, some notes of white flowers elevate the wine. The notes of botrytis are particularly distinctive on the middle of the mouth: dried apricots, quince and mushrooms. Beautiful notes of honey on the finish that keeps a lot of peps. Huge potential for this wine that is made for long aging. For the complexity lover!

Château La Tour Blanche 2015. Appellation Sauternes

Nice deepness on the nose and good tension on the finish.  A v ery nice blend quite compact.  Notes of honey, quince, pineapple, apricots. The balance of the flavors is superb.  Candied notes are pleasantly melted, adding complexity. We are on a rich aromatic but measured style and it continues on a great finish.  There is a l ot of tension at the end of the length. The harmony of this 2015 of Château La Tour Blanche is incredible.

Château La Tour Blanche 2014. Appellation Sauternes

Quite deep on the nose. Medium to full body, notes of candies who let appear a wine still in progress. The finish is complex but needs time to be more balanced. Notes of honey, lemon, quince, pineapple. Pretty long finish, a relatively little sweetened with some salinity. A wine that should be keeping but it could be clearly very good in the years to come.

Château La Tour Blanche 2013. Appellation Sauternes

Beautiful gold. Medium intensity on the nose, surprising sometimes for its aerial part, sometimes for its deep character. Full body, a very nice tension and a great vivacity are expressed on the palate. It is complex and very well balanced: honey and quince with notes of apricots. The texture is superb, definitely a very high quality wine. The finish is long, offering a great  tension with beautiful botrytised notes: candied grapes and a touch of forest floor, mushrooms. A powerful wine, rich and very complex. Shaped for long aging and for the lovers of great Sauternes!

Château La Tour Blanche 2012. Appellation Sauternes

Nose of medium intensity: notes of honey, peach and quince.  A slighty touch of white pepper is also present. Nice freshness on the palate with a lot of lightness on the beginning. It makes this wine very pleasant. The finish is a bit powerful, quite long, with a salinity touch adding some peps to fine notes of candied grapes and rhubarb. A wine enjoyable now, perfect for an aperitif during a hot summer day.

Château La Tour Blanche 2011. Appellation Sauternes

Great freshness on the nose. Slight notes of botrytis, mushrooms mixed with pineapple, quince, apricot and a slightly candy part. Full body, very nice balance of the texture which is very fluid and dynamic. Long and very complex, 2011 of Château La Tour Blanche is a wine with multiple facets: starting with a feeling of opulence, a light iodine side allows to bounce in delicacy before ending on a powerful but very fresh finish. High potential.

Château La Tour Blanche 2010. Appellation Sauternes

Intense gold appearance. Nose of medium intensity on an airy style. Very nice finesse, light and measured. A surprising feeling of lightness reigns on the palate and yet there is a lot of texture in this wine. Exceptional subtlety and balanced notes of mushrooms, honey, quince, pineapple. Very long finish, salty, with shiny notes of honey. A very complex and subtle wine with a lot of freshness. We are on a very high level.  With this 2010 of Château La Tour Blanche the qualification of meditative wine makes definitely its sense !

Château La Tour Blanche 2009. Appellation Sauternes

Intense gold appearance. Magnificent first nose!  Rich and subtle with notes of grapes, honey, pineapple, quince and white pepper. We are quickly plunged into an incredible complexity, such a deepness! The wine does not end to open itself, we find ourselves transported into another dimension. It’s a travel, really!   S uperb texture that alone worth it. Absolutely everything is in this wine! Incredible length who alternates between wealth and subtlety. The balance is perfect, never an ounce of too much. Château La Tour Blanche 2009 is a wine of emotion, the  True  emotion !

Château La Tour Blanche 2008. Appellation Sauternes

All the property was damaged by the frost on this vintage which makes 2008 a quite rare wine: 16 barrels were produced instead of 200.

Intense gold appearance, nose on dominant notes of grapes and sweet spices.  On the palate t he wine is ample, balanced, lively and marked by spices. Final of medium intensity and well balanced.

Château La Tour Blanche 2007. Appellation Sauternes

2007  marked the staff with 7 passes during the harvest to be able to pick up the botrytized grapes at good maturity.

Intense gold appearance. On the nose it is a mixture of fruit cake, spices and grapes (dominant flavor). The spicy note is pronounced, on grey pepper. Full body, beautiful attack on the palate with a very dynamic texture, quite lively. Beautiful balance and an intense finish marked by a spicy touch.

Château La Tour Blanche 2006. Appellation Sauternes

Gold appearance with amber highlights.  Hints of dominant spices with some touch of nutmeg and saffron mixed with apricots.  Nice freshness on the palate, beautiful texture, quite airy on the finish. Fresh and complex, the finish gives notes of refined spices and very fine notes of caramel are also noticeable. The incredible diversity of the aromatic palette that you can find in a Sauternes wine is revealed!

Château La Tour Blanche 2005. Appellation Sauternes

Gold appearance with amber reflects. Medium intensity on the nose, slightly roasted with fine notes of coffee and a subtle touch of spices. Honey blended with saffron!   Despite a rich composition and be delectable (given especially by the notes of coffee), an airy dimension is also felt in this wine. The acidity is still very much present and the finish is really enjoyable, thanks to its balanced and fresh style. A wine with a good ageing potential and with a beautiful presence of tertiary notes.

Château La Tour Blanche 2004. Appellation Sauternes

Gold appearance with amber reflects. Nose both expressive and subtle, floral. Beautiful and very fine notes of roasted aromas, and also a part of saffron. Full body, this wine is very  rich, ample, with a very beautiful concentration.  Magnificent texture. Light notes of honey, quince which are beautifully melted with roasted notes. Superb! Enjoyable now. 

Château La Tour Blanche 2003. Appellation Sauternes

Gold appearance with amber reflects. Intense and complex nose, with fine pear and peach notes found on a spice dimension, especially white pepper and musk. Full body with roasted apricot and forest floor. Nice and long finish with a great complexity from saffron and a hint of honey. On spicy and also torrefied style, the composition is very well balanced. Beautiful potential and superb now. A gourmet wine.

Château La Tour Blanche 2002. Appellation Sauternes

Gold  appearance with amber reflects . Light touch of fresh pears, peaches blended with roasted and saffron notes. Full body, fluid and well balanced.   Roasted a pricot and quince. Great vivacity on the palate, and very complex length, on fine and fresh notes of kirsch. The spices are the dominant part on this wine which marks by its complexity.

Château La Tour Blanche 2001. Appellation Sauternes

Gold appearance with amber reflects. Notes of apricots, pears, peaches and spices. Nice texture on the palate with rich notes of saffron and also caramel. Long finish, balanced with a hint of iodine. Very nice.

Château La Tour Blanche 1976. Appellation Sauternes

Amber appearance with gold reflects. Notes of caramel and kirsch. The roasted side is really dominant. Soft texture on the palate, some freshness appears on the length including a surprising touch of white chocolate, adding complexity and gourmet flavors. A delight! 

Château La Tour Blanche 1962. Appellation Sauternes

Amber appearance. Notes of dried herbs between spices and roasted coffee. Beautiful finish with still freshness and an interesting length. The notes of botrytis are still widely perceptible. Magnificent !

This vertical was an incredible experience ! Seeing the differences years by years, the evolution of the wines, for finally ending with 1976 and 1962, wines much older than me and which still have time for them. It is definitely a great characteristic of Sauternes that makes these wines fascinating: whether the wine is one year old or more than 70 years old, we can always appreciate them at their true value and discover completely different universes. I don’t know for you but I am definitely in love with this style of wine !

Note that a special cuvée was also tasted during this vertical of Château La Tour Blanche.  It will be a good reason to make another post to present this novelty. I can only tell you that it is very high level !

Sujet : tour blanche niveaux 2

bonsoir a tous je suis encore bloquer.voila je suis au niveaux 2 de la tour blanche j ai franchi le passage secret par la salle des puits et là je me retrouve dans un long couloir avec 4 inter j ai bau les actioner de diferente manieres je me retrouve toujours dans un cul de sac.ensuite est il possible de detruire les esprits du niveaux 3.merci d avances pour vos reponses.

Les interrupteurs je sais pas à quoi ils servent moi je les ai tous activés et j´ai pas eu de probleme...

Pour les esprits, j´ai tout fait au cube de Valean, mais sinon je crois que les lames d´emeraude sont assez efficaces ( malheureusement je les ai abandonnées)

Pour les boutons dans le couloir, ils ne servent à rien à ma connaissance.

Pour les esprits, il suffisait de lire les livres de la Bibliothèque à Gladstone. Les Lames d´Emeraude permettent de les vaincre. L´Arbalète Valkyrie permet de les atteindre dans les murs. Le Cube de Vaélan aspire leur énergie et la restitue sous forme de points de santé à l´utilisateur du cube. C´est l´arme la plus efficace.
