Kappadokien, ein Teil des inneranatolischen Hochlandes, ist von allen Seiten von Bergen umgeben. Dazwischen liegt eine Landschaft von wundervoller Schönheit, die dem Wanderer und Naturfreund eine Fülle herrlicher Erlebnisse bietet. Das antike Kappadokien reichte vom Schwarzen Meer bis zum Taurusgebirge im Süden, vom Euphrat im Osten bis zu den Salzseen im Westen. Zu Recht wird das heutige Kappadokien als Weltwunderwerk der Natur bezeichnet: Bizarre Felsformationen, einzigartige Tufflandschaften mit unterirdischen Städten und zahlreichen Felsenkirchen lassen Gedanken an eine unwirkliche Mondlandschaft entstehen. Viele der einzigartigen Feenkamine, die charakteristischen Pyramiden Kappadokiens, sind als Folge heftiger Eruptionen von heute erloschenen Vulkanen entstanden, wobei sich die Asche in Schichten mit verschiedenen Farben und Formen ablagerte. Die Tuffschichten wurden im Laufe der Zeit ausgewaschen und ließen Wasserrinnen und tiefe Schluchten entstehen. Aber auch die einzigartige Ansammlung altchristlicher Kirchen und Klöster ist eine der größten Attraktionen des Landes. Eigentlich ist Kappadokien heute immer noch eine Art „Geheimtipp“ im Herzen der Türkei.

Anforderungen an die Teilnehmenden: Leichte bis mittelschwere Wanderungen von ca. drei bis vier Stunden Dauer pro Tag. Ausrüstung: gut eingelaufene Schuhe, eventuell Wanderstöcke, Tagesrucksack, Sonnenschutz empfohlen.

Linienflug mit TURKISH AIRLINES von Frankfurt oder einem anderen Flughafen über Istanbul nach Nevsehir oder Kayseri. Transfer zum Hotel und Treffen mit der Reiseleitung. 7 Übernachtungen im 4-Sterne Hotel GÜL KONALKARI oder ähnlichem.

Nach dem Frühstück beginnt gleich unsere erste Wanderung. Eine ca. vierstündige, leicht fordernde Wanderung durch das Güllüdere-Tal (Rosental) und das Kizilcukur-Tal (Rotes Tal) mit einzigartigen Landschaftspanoramen. Wir besuchen einige der hiesigen Höhlenkirchen. Nach einem Rundgang durch das Dorf Cavusin sehen wir mehrere Felsenkirchen mit den besterhaltensten Fresken Kappadokiens. (120 Höhenmeter)

Kappadokien

Nach einer kurzen Fahrt gelangen wir ins Hochland nach Güzelyurt. Ca. vierstündige, leicht fordernde Wanderung durch den Ilhara-Canyon, eine tief eingeschnittene Schlucht mit vielfältiger Vegetation und vielen Ruinen und Höhlenkirchen der byzantinischen Epoche wie der Kokar Kilise (wohlriechende Kirche), der Agalcalti Kilise (Kirche unter dem Baum) und der Yilanli Kilise (Schlangenkirche). (110 Höhenmeter)

Frühmorgens Gelegenheit zur Teilnahme an einer einzigartigen Ballonfahrt über diese faszinierende Landschaft (vor Ort buchbar). Danach geht es nach Uchisar, von wo wir durch das Tauben-Tal laufen. Nachmittags eine leicht fordernde Wanderung hinab durch das Ask Vadisi-Tal (Liebestal). Dank der hohen Speicherfähigkeit des porösen Untergrundes plätschert ein kleiner Bach durch verlassene und daher verwilderte, wildromantische kleine Felder und Obstgärten. Die Felsformationen und sehr viel Grün machen den besonderen Reiz dieses abgelegenen Tales und dieser Wanderung aus. (170 Höhenmeter)

Wanderung durch eine faszinierende Welt einzigartiger Feenkamine im erst kürzlich erschlossenen ÇatTal. Die Wanderung in diesem bei Nevsehir liegenden Tal dauert ca. dreieinhalb Stunden (140 Höhenmeter). Unterwegs kommen wir an den für Kappadokien so charakteristischen Taubenhäusern vorbei. Unsere Mittagspause mit lokalen Spezialitäten bei einer Bauernfamilie und Möglichkeit, sich über das Dorfleben und die türkische Familienkultur zu informieren. Nachmittags Besuch einer Teppichmanufaktur. Die Kunst des Teppichknüpfens ist eng mit der Kultur Anatoliens verbunden.

Nach dem Frühstück Spaziergang durch das altgriechische Dorf Mustafapasa, dessen Häuser und Höhlen von Steinmetzen erfolgreich rekonstruiert werden. Danach Besichtigung des Klosters Keslik aus dem 9. Jh. Anschließend fahren wir ins Soganli-Tal. Hier eine ca. dreieinhalbstündige Wanderung durch die bizarre Mondlandschaft mit wunderschönen Felsenkirchen (150 Höhenmeter). Auf dem Rückweg besichtigen wir die unterirdische Stadt bei Derinkuyu.

Nach dem Frühstück eine leicht fordernde Wanderung durch das Balkan Vadisi-Tal, das ruhig zwischen den beiden wunderhübschen Dörfern Ibrahimpasa und Ortahisar gelegen ist. Nachmittags Gelegenheit, den Wochenmarkt in Ürgüp zu besuchen.

Transfer zum Flughafen und Rückflug mit TURKISH AIRLINES von Nevsehir oder Kayseri über Istanbul nach Frankfurt oder zum gebuchten Heimatflughafen.

Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you.
