Liverpool Legends are four incredibly talented musicians/actors hand-picked by Louise Harrison, sister of the late George Harrison, to honor her brother’s legacy, and re-create the band that changed the world forever.

Why the shirts of two Man Utd legends are permanently displayed in Liverpool's away dressing room at Anfield

The rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester United is one of the most fierce in the Premier League and yet, the shirts of two United legends are proudly displayed in Anfield.

The two clubs have been involved in a bitter rivalry for over a century, with their annual meetings considered one of the biggest fixtures in world football.

Of the 215 meetings between the pair, United have won the most games with 83 wins while Liverpool have been victorious 72 times with 60 draws.

So why do Liverpool display the shirts of two of United's most iconic players in Anfield's away changing room?

Both Roy Keane and Cristiano Ronaldo's shirts can be seen hanging from the walls of the changing room alongside the shirts of several other footballing greats.

And the reason that they United legends shirts are in the changing room is because former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher picked them as two of the greatest players he has ever faced.

While the home changing room displays the shirts of the current first team, on non-match days for stadium tours, Liverpool choose to hang the shirts of some of the biggest opposition names to play at Anfield.

Other big names that can be seen in the changing room are Lionel Messi , Thierry Henry, Gianluigi Buffon, Fabio Cannavaro and several others.

Carragher has previously been critical of Ronaldo, claiming that he is nowhere near the level of Messi, who he is often compared to as two of the greatest footballers of all time.

But recently, while speaking to Football365 , he discussed just how great the striker was: "Ronaldo became a great player at United.

“In his last two years he was the main man. But when he initially came in, United had so many great players that he wasn’t going to be one you built a team talk around. He never really gave us too many problems.

“It always fascinates me with Ronaldo – I would describe him as one of the greatest goalscorers of all time, but normally when other players fall into that category they’re goalscorers their whole life, from the first time they kick a ball. Ronaldo wasn’t. He almost made himself a goalscorer. That’s down to his work ethic and his mental strength. That, for me, has always been his biggest quality."

Just days after Liverpool beat Manchester United at Old Trafford, supporters visiting Anfield wouldn't help but notice that Cristiano Ronaldo and Roy Keane's shirts are in position in one of the dressing rooms during this international break.

Sunday was the 65th meeting between the two sides in the Premier League , with goals from Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah securing the Reds' 20th league victory since 1992. In that time, the fixture has become one of the most iconic in the Premier League, with goals, red cards, and regular drama, but that hasn't stopped two of United's best players from that time being recognised at Anfield.

During tours of Anfield, the shirts of Keane and Ronaldo are hung on the dressing room wall - alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Cafu and Xavi - after Jamie Carragher picked the United duo as two of the best players he had faced during his glittering Liverpool career.

Speaking to Football365 earlier this year, Carragher said: "Ronaldo became a great player at United. In his last two years, he was the main man. But Ronaldo and Keane aren't the only players to have left their mark at Anfield. During the tour, visitors are taken into the away dressing room, which is notably modest in appearance compared to the home dressing room.

Within the kitchen area is a basic fridge which has several dints in the door. According to an LFC Stadium Tour guide, the damage was caused by the studs of Lionel Messi's boot, with the legendary forward failing to keep his temper after Barcelona famously saw a Champions League semi-final 3-0 first-leg lead sensationally overturned by Liverpool, in a 4-0 second defeat to the Reds in 2019, in what was one of Anfield's most famous European nights.

Liverpool FC will return to the USA this month to showcase 'The LFC Experience', bringing a series of unique events directly to its fans and partners in New York City.

Former players Lucas Leiva and Martin Skrtel will be joining the Reds during this exciting visit, meeting with fans from NYC and Brooklyn's Official Liverpool Supporters Clubs and supporting partner-led events.

Taking place from September 26-28, 'The LFC Experience' demonstrates the club's commitment to engaging with its passionate fanbase and commercial partners in the US, while enhancing its presence in one of its most strategic international hubs, with more than half of the club's partners now headquartered in the US.

According to the latest figures from Global Web Index, there are more than 24 million LFC fans in the US alone, with 67 Official Liverpool Supporters Clubs across 35 states.

The club's recent pre-season tour of the US was a resounding success, breaking attendance records at major venues, including Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia and Williams-Brice Stadium in South Carolina.

Kate Theobald, head of global partnership sales at LFC, said: "We are looking forward to bringing this unforgettable 'LFC Experience' to New York City this month to engage with our loyal fans and partners.
