8-Day Voyage From Bodrum To Gokova Bay

traditional wooden gulet at gokova bay

Embark on an exciting 8-day gulet cruise from Bodrum to Gokova Bay, where you’ll discover the stunning beauty of Turkey’s Aegean coast. Our itinerary is jam-packed with adventures and experiences that will leave you with lifelong memories.

8-Day Bodrum – Gokova Gulet Cruise Itineraries

BODRUM – GULF OF GOKOVA – BODRUM

Day 1: Bodrum

Our journey begins at 3:00 p.m. when we board our gulet at Bodrum Harbour. Our gulet cruise will sail from the harbor to a nearby bay, where we will spend our first night. Bodrum is steeped in history, dating back to the 12th century BC when it was known as ‘Halicarnassus’. The city is home to the only remaining structure from the Classical Era – the Amphitheatre, which can accommodate up to 13,000 guests. The city’s landmark, the Castle of Saint Peter, is another must-see attraction, as is the Myndos Gate where Alexander the Great entered Halicarnassus.

Day 2:  Orak Island – Çökertme

Anchored yacht in Gokova, Turkey

After breakfast, our gulet cruise will set sail for Orak Island. Here, you can swim in crystal-clear waters and enjoy a delicious lunch. We will then sail to Çökertme, a charming fishing town, where we’ll dine and spend the night.

Day 3: Seven Islands – Küfre – LongPort

We will sail to Seven Islands before breakfast and spend a beautiful day in the region filled with small islands and coral reefs. Diving, swimming, resting and sleeping are all recommended activities in this area and guests can also take a walk in the surrounding pine forests. Our first stop will be Kufre Bay and we will anchor at Uzun Liman (Long Port) for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Tuzla – Löngöz – English Harbour

Sailing yacht in Gokova, Turkey

We will anchor at Tuzla Bay for a morning swim in the turquoise-blue waters. For lunch, our captain will hoist sail to Longoz Bay, another stunning location sheltered with pine forests. After lunch, you can take a short walk in the forest and relax in Ali Baba’s local cafe. Our gulet cruise will then sail to English Port for dinner and overnight stay. The name ‘English Port’ comes from the 2nd World War, when English Navy ships used to dock here.

Day 5: Cleopatra Island – Karacasöğüt

We will sail to Sedir (Kedrae) Island, where you can enjoy the small beach and clear waters. This island is like an open-air museum, with city walls, ruins from the Dors’ reign, an amphitheater with a capacity of 1500 guests and domed historical buildings. You can walk around the ancient stones decorated with reliefs or the wrecks of pillars with antique writings on them. Cleopatra beach on this island has a unique kind of sand that can only be found in Northern African deserts. King Antonius is said to have brought this sand from Egypt by sea for Cleopatra. We will then sail to Karacasöğüt village for dinner and overnight stay. This charming village is located 25 kms away from Marmaris and optional tours to Marmaris or Dalyan-Caunos are available.

Day 6: Kargılı – Kisebükü (Alakıçla Bükü)

Anchored boats in Gokova, Turkey

We will sail to Kargılı Bay early in the morning and anchor at Kisebükü (Alakıçla) after lunch. Here, you will see the Byzantians’ ruins and we will spend the night in this beautiful bay.

Day 7: Pabuç Burnu – Yalıçiftlik – Bodrum

After breakfast, we will set sail towards Pabucburnu where we will enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, we will take a tea break in Yaliciftlik Bay before returning to Bodrum Port for our last dinner and overnight stay. Private groups have the option to spend their last night in a nearby bay before returning to Bodrum Harbour early in the morning on day 8.

4 Nights Bodrum Gulet Cruise

4 Nights Bodrum Gulet Cruise

4 nights bodrum yacht charter itinerary.

Bodrum

Bodrum is one of Turkey’s most talked about holiday resorts in Turkey. This game is greatly due to the Fisherman of Halicarnassos who did so much to promote it, who caused our intellectuals to fall in love wtih the place, so much so that now many of writers and artists can be found for most the year in Bodrum. Entertainment is definitely added to holidays in the town. In Bodrum holidays are divided into two. During the day it is time to swim in extremely blue bays, to leave your body to the hot sunshine and in other words to rest and get ready for the night. once the sun sets and the stars begins to fill the sky another call of life is heard. This is the call of the Bodrum nights. The restaurants are ready fort he night, on the water front, in nearby villages, on streets of white houeses and on the hills. Bodrum is not only a town of sea, sun and fun nights. The story of civilisation in Bodrum has a history going back 3,000 years. The historian Herodotus says that the city was founded in 1000 BC by the Dorians on the location where the castle is today. In those days the place was an island. The height of Halicarnassus was in the 4th century BC. During the 24 years rule of King Mausolus he made the city the capital of Caria and began construction of the magnificent monument, the Mausoleum, one of the Seven Wonders of the world.

Orak Island

Orak Island is a location where yachts and boats on Gokova tours do not pass without stopping. The island stretches opposite of Kargicik Inlet and has indented shores covered with olive trees in the lower slopes of the hills. There is no settlement on the island but there are sheltered coves that you can anchor at in the North and in the east the sea that is like an aquarium.

Cokertme

Cokertme is a small and picturesque fishing town, that gives you to have a dinner and an overnight stay. This gorgeous bay is surrounded by pine and olive trees and is pleasantly sheltered against the winds. The area allows you to walk on shore and make small strolls in the nature.

Mazi

Mazi is a virgin cove just near Bodrum with extremely clean water. It has not yet been opened up to construction, has a very green character, with monumental trees and stones. The village of Mazi on Gokova shores was built on higher grounds so as to not to be seen by pirates and thus avoid their attacks. The shores of Mazi do not get crowded even in the hottest summer days. Its long beaches and rocks are available both for swimming and fishing.

The Seven Islands

On the southern shores of the Gokova Gulf there is an area that has four islands in front and where a gulf of more then two miles is formed between the coastlines. In all weathers between these islands and coves there is a calm site you can anchor. The island of Martili (Seagull Island) in the west is barren. On its southern part and northern point there are beautiful beaches at which to swim. The other islands are called Uzun (Tall), Zeytinli (Olive) and Kucuk (Small). All have steep and rocky coastlines where there are no beaches. The islands are mostly barren but in the cove areas there are pine forests. The most significant anchoring points in the Yediadalar are Camalti Cove, the port of Bekar (Gokagac Inlet), the port of Karaagac, Babus Inlet, Kufre Cove and Gollu Island. The Camalti Beach and the sea bottom are sandy. The shores are covered with forests. The port of Bekar is like a pool with a diameter of 150 metres. The gulets cannot enter and yachts only go there rarely. The most popular cove for gulets in the area is Kufre. All the coves are linked to each other with dirt paths. There is a shabby restaurant called Yedi Adalar that serves boats at the mouth of Kufre. Right opposite Kufre there is the Gollu Island, which is ideal to moor and for swimming.

Cleaopatra Island (Sedir Island)

Sedir Island is in the Gökova Gulf and is so named because of the numerous cedar trees on the surrounding shores. Kedrai means ‘cedars’, and the durable wood from these trees was particularly used for building ships. The island has a sandy beach made up of tiny limestone balls, thought to be a natural result of the geological conditions on the island. However, the beautiful sand was reputedly sent by ship from Egypt by Cleopatra, so that she could swim here with her Roman lover, Anthony. Because of this legend, the beach is known as Cleopatra Beach and receives many visitors in the summer months. We don’t know exactly when the city was founded but we know that Lysander, a naval commander from Sparta, attacked the island in 405 BC, first withdrawing when he met strong resistance, then gaining control of the island with a second assault. Probably because they had angered him, he sold off all the inhabitants as slaves. However, after this the island was inhabited continuously and, after being a guard post of the Knights of Rhodes in the Middle Ages, came under Ottoman rule. The island is about 700 meters long and the archaeological remains are on the east side. They consist of ramparts, an amphitheatre, an agora, a necropolis and a temple of Apollo which is almost exactly in the centre of the island. This temple was built on a platform and a church was built around it in Byzantine times.

Pabucburnu - Yaliciftlik

Yaliciftlik is at the entrance of the Gulf of Gokova and possibly the best seas of Bodrum are in the small bays to be found here. In the coves of Pabucburnu and Kargicik, the most popular with Bodrum locals in the past, there are now high quality hotels and holiday resorts. The daily boat and gulet tours find an indent in these coves to have their breaks. The hill sloping down to the coves have many walking trails that have a brilliant scenery.

TURKEY GULET YACHT

A gulet is a classic wooden, motorized, and sailing boat that is perfect for long sea voyages and close-to-land cruises.

Traditional Turkish gulets are made-to-order boats that skilled artisans construct from wood. Because they provide a very comfortable cruising experience, gulets, often referred to as motor sailboats, are perfect for coastal excursions and lengthy sea cruises.

We are aware that the first gulet construction began in Turkey’s Bodrum region. However, production is also taking place in Bozburun, Marmaris, Fethiye, and Istanbul as a result of the expanding market and demand.

Types of Gulets

Gulet: The gulet is the most well-known traditional yacht design for Blue Cruise. The dining table and seating area are located at the back of the gulets.

There is typically a sofa and enough sun pillows out front for everyone. The entrance to the cabins is through this hall, which features a dining table according to the size of the gulet and an interior hall.

The yacht’s round stern causes the guest quarters to be in the front, while the aft side is typically used as the technical area. The ability to sail is marginally superior to that of Aynakic gulets.

The AFT parts of Aynakic gulets are not round, as they are in gulets, but rather are in a structure with raised corners, which is a key characteristic that sets them apart from ordinary gulets.

They typically use this space for the suite room, or what we would refer to as the “master cabin.” All other details are the same as for gulets, with the exception of this characteristic.

Tirhandil is the oldest local wooden boat type with a pointed stern and the best-suited wooden yacht for sailing. Today, the equipment has changed from sloop to lifeboat and from sail to sail; the majority of them are three-corner sails.

They do not construct them on particularly lengthy decks, often between 15 and 25 meters, like other kinds. The same standards apply to their cabins. If you like sailing, this is the best option.

Accommodation on Gulets

Traditional Turkish gulets have evolved in appearance over time. A modern gulet today resembles a high-end floating hotel and can be anywhere between 15 and 55 meters (50 and 180 feet) in length. Gulet length and passenger capacity are not inversely related.

A 20-meter gulet, for instance, might contain three guest cabins or six. The cabins must be smaller in order to accommodate additional cabins of the same size. But in general, taller gulets make up vessels with six or more multi-cabs.

Every cabin on gulets of different shapes and sizes was created with the needs of the passenger in mind, including a bed, wardrobe, separate shower, and toilet.

However, extra comfort amenities like sofa sets, dressers, work desks, and jacuzzis are also available, depending on the size of the rooms and the level of luxury of the boat. There are separate cabins for personnel in the guest cabins.

Gulet Passenger Safety

On gulets, the welfare of the passengers comes first. As a result, each gulet contains numerous fuel and clean water tanks. Additionally, it features a complete set of navigation and safety equipment, including life jackets, fire extinguishers, GSM phones, and VHF radios.

All of these safety precautions and modern technologies prevent any potential emergency and enhance your seaside vacation.

Types of Gulet Charters

Private yacht charter: When you charter a gulet, the entire vessel—along with its crew—is yours for the duration of the rental period. Within the parameters outlined in your rental agreement, you are free to take any route during the rental term.

And you are not restricted to any set timetable; you can plan your vacation however you like. You can purchase our ready-made menu packages and avoid sticking to a typically restricted menu, just as you can shop for your rations.

Renting a private gulet is the perfect choice if you want to spend a luxurious vacation at sea with your family or enjoy the sea and entertainment with close friends.

For a trip you won’t forget and wish to repeat, choose from traditional, classic, luxury, or ultra-luxury yacht charter options to suit your needs and experience.

Cabin rentals : On a shared tour, one or more cabins may be rented. The schedule for the route, lunch times, and meal components remain the same.

The purpose of in-cabin trips, which they typically arrange on classic gulets, is to experience the spirit and joy of the Blue Cruise rather than taking a vacation on a luxury yacht. Let’s say you can’t organize enough groups to rent a private gulet or you go over your budget.

Then, a cabin rental could provide you with a relaxing blue-tour vacation. Renting a cabin will help you make the most of your vacation by allowing you to cruise in style, widen your circle of friends, and meet new acquaintances on the boat.

LUXURY GULET YACHT CHARTER

Where else can you enjoy the peace and quiet of the Blue Sea, which has everything you need to make up for the weariness of the whole year? In the Eastern Mediterranean and Aegean, where there are “Blue Weeks” that never end and warm seas, you can have a great vacation.

Bluetourturkey.com has helped people for a long time. Many of our guests come back every year to see more of the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas. Maybe you’d like to come back and try something new. Nature gives you a great temperature, a calm sea, a lot of history and culture, and delicious food.

During the day, you can walk between boats along the coast and stop in different bays. At night, you can stay in a very quiet bay where no one else is. You can drink something cold and watch the sun go down. Or, if you want, you can tie up your boat in a busy port and enjoy the holiday mood of the people there.

Places like the blue coast of Turkey, the Greek islands, and the eastern shores of the Adriatic, Croatia, and Montenegro are also options.

For tourists looking for the sun, Turkey is very famous. Regular regional flights to international airports in southwest Turkey have made this place very easy to get to. A lot of people also visit places like Bodrum, Marmaris, Fethiye, Gocek, and Antalya during the long summer months. Each of these places is an area that can be part of the boat rental program.

Local tour operators, especially those from other parts of Europe, have a strong interest in the Greek islands in the Aegean Sea. The great thing about a gulet rental vacation is that you can visit some of these islands. Rhodes, Symi, and Kos all have ports that are close to the Turkish shore. These are great islands for people who want to see places in both areas. Between the Greek islands in the west and the many Greek islands in the north, you can mix and match a lot of different options.

Let’s say you have to choose between two routes that are very different. In that case, you can get more information about each area by getting in touch with us.

Gulets of Bodrum

After you pick a route the second step is to find a perfect gulet for your group with enough cabins and features that will please everyone. The main characteristics of Bodrum gulets, when compared to ones from other regions, are the boat shape.  Bodrum gulet types have characteristics easily recognizable back decks that are rounder shape and their full body is close to the sea so you have a real sense of cruising and sailing. Today boat builders are also more focused not only on the shape of the gulets but also in providing luxury features and ambiance that is followed up later with the amazing professional crew. The more luxurious ones you pick, the more they cost of course. However, prices can range, depending on the time of the year, number of cabins, amenities that gulet offers, boat age etc. Our team of experts will with no problem find a great solution for every budget.

Gulet Cruises in Bodrum

gulet cruise bodrum

Gulet cruises in Bodrum  gives the opportunity to sail around Turkish coasts and the Greek Islands together. As Gulet Broker, we are offering great deals for blue cruises in Turkey, Greece, Croatia, Montenegro, and Italy.

gulet cruise bodrum

Bodrum is the ideal starting point for sailing the Aegean coast of Turkey. The Gökova Gulf is acknowledged to be one of the best cruising areas in Europe. With abundant sunshine, crystal clear waters, continuous blue skies, good anchorages, and friendly people, this coast offers many diversities. There are many unspoiled areas rich in natural beauty and in costal settlements and villages for  Gulet Cruises in Bodrum . Bodrum is a port city in Muğla Province, in the southwestern Aegean Region of Turkey.

It is located on the southern coast of Bodrum Peninsula, at a point that checks the entry into the Gulf of Gökova. The city was called Halicarnassus of Caria in ancient times and was famous for housing the Mausoleum of Mausolus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Bodrum Castle, built by the Crusaders in the 15th century, overlooks the harbor and the marina. The castle grounds include a Museum of Underwater Archeology and hosts several cultural festivals throughout the year.

gulet cruise bodrum

Kos Island is really well worth visiting. Kos is the island that gave the world Hippocrates, the father of medicine. The third-largest island of the Dodecanese, it is a very green island with an excellent infrastructure and large roads lined up with palm trees. During your visit to Kos Island, you must certainly visit the ancient ruins of the city that are numerous and remarkable, the ruins of ‘Asklepios’, the ‘Castle of the Knights’and the huge tree of Hippocrates (trunk diameter is 11,5 meters!).

On Kos, you will find some of the finest beaches in the Dodecanese islands of Greece. With many archaeological sites in and around the town, Kos is the ideal place for walking or cycling..

Pserimos Island – Leros Island

gulet cruise bodrum

We will cruise to Pserimos Island early in the morning. Pserimos is an islet located between Kos and Kalymnos, about six nautical miles north of Kos and close to the Turkish coast. The total area is only about 15sq km and there is only a handful of permanent residents, around 100 who rely on fishing and tourism. The island is a popular destination for tourists who arrive from Kos or Kalymnos on small excursion boats or pirate-type tourist ships that arrive daily throughout the summer.

Pserimos is a good day out for those wishing to avoid organized beaches of Kos or Kalymnos but the beach, though large, can get crowded once all the day trip boats arrive. The beach is wide, deep, very sandy with shallow waters well sheltered in the deep bay and lined with beachside tavernas and cafes that catch the daily trade. There is a small harbor for boat mooring. There’s not much to see besides the single sandy beach though tracks lead over the rocky treeless hills to small coves. Leros is an island with a very healthy climate ideal for a quiet holiday. Evergreen, with many inviting coves and beautiful sandy beaches, Leros relaxes the visitor with its tranquil landscape. Not very touristy, the main port of Lakki is one of the best examples of Art Deco architecture in Greece.

It was designed by Mussolini’s architects in 1923 and although in defiance of the dictator’s wishes, the capital was subsequently moved above the village of Platanos. The rest of the island is green with stunning beaches and large bays. Leros is the ideal home base for sailing trips to the coast of Turkey and the other Dodecanese islands.

Patmos Island

gulet cruise bodrum

Patmos Island Known as the Jerusalem of the Aegean, Patmos island is the holy island of Christians, where the Apocalypse of St. John was written. Visitors of this Dodecanese island today are split into two groups, the first half that still come to the island because of its religious significance and the second half comes here to enjoy the lovely beaches, the serenity and the unique character of the island and its people.

Patmos is a quiet island at night, but a busy stop by day for the many cruise ships that have made it a port of call. Patmos is a spectacular island with great beaches and a unique landscape, an island where tourism until recently was low-key but has been growing steadily. Don’t miss the unique Easter celebrations (Greek Orthodox Easter) where you will have the chance to see a staging of Christ’s Last Supper. Also, take an evening stroll through the narrow streets of Hora or Chora and watch the sunset from Kastelli hill.

Lipsi Island

gulet cruise bodrum

Lipsi Island is a tiny island covered with whitewashed houses and little churches with blue domes. It is an island where cars are almost non-existent and where most of the local life takes place at the island’s port. Lipsi is a very beautiful and authentic island of the Dodecanese is where you can watch the fishermen beat octopuses on the quays that will be served later that night in one of the many cafes set on the tiny port.

Kalymnos Island

gulet cruise bodrum

Kalymnos Island is best known as the island of some of the world’s finest sponge divers. Although Kalymnos is a developing tourist center, you can still see the sponge fishermen at work even today and you can still experience the islanders’ traditional way of life. On this beautiful island of Kalymnos in the Dodecanese, you can take nice walks, swim in beautiful caves, and discover lovely beaches and unspoiled scenery, an example of which is the authentic village of Vathi hidden in a beautiful green valley.

Due to its mountainous landscape, Kalymnos is also one of the best places to practice mountain climbing! Also, most of the beaches of Kalymnos are equipped with water sports facilities. The wonderful sunsets over the tiny island Telendos are not to be missed – they are on par with those of Santorini!

Turgutreis – Karaincir

gulet cruise bodrum

Turgut reis, on Turkey’s southern coast, is one of the major players in the Bodrum peninsula’s seaside portfolio. Set amid mountains, islands and citrus groves, this western-facing spot is famous for its sunsets. And it comes with a lively spread of shops, bars, and restaurants, not to mention a contemporary marina with modern boutiques and waterfront eating places. The beaches are within an impressive beauty.

The long strip of coarse sand dips gently into shallow waters, so it’s perfect for children. Karaincir is a 500-meter stretch of soft golden sand which is great for all the family. The tranquil blue water is invitingly calm, and also offers a number of watersports from banana boats to pedaloes. You can also soak up the relaxed ambiance around the beach from one of the many sun loungers made available, whilst sipping on a refreshing drink from one of the venders.

gulet cruise bodrum

After an exceptional yacht charter, you come to sail back to Bodrum and prepare for your flight home. This is a perfect time to visit this wonderful city and enjoy your last (but not final) taste of Turkey. Gulet Cruises in Bodrum has a jewel surrounded golden sunsets and azure waters.

You really should partake in all the local cuisine, cultural attractions and visit the waterfront outside the famous Bodrum Castle, built from the stones of the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus. It houses an amazing underwater archeology museum and is a must-see when in Bodrum.
