Customer Support Requests usually take up to 48 hours for us to reply. This can vary over busy times, but we will reply back to you as soon as possible with all the information that you require. Priority is given to those who are travelling soon. We appreciate your patience.

What do I need to take with me?

This really depends on what you have booked with us, but these are some general rules:   Flights If you're flying with an airline that requires you to check in online then you'll need to print your boarding passes. If you're able to check in at the airport, all you will need is our confirmation email. You can reprint this from Manage Your Booking https://www.dnatatravel.com/v2/?returnUrl=/manage-your-booking/login.aspx .   Hotels Once your accommodation booking has been confirmed, you will be forwarded an email with your accommodation booking confirmation. If you haven't received your accommodation voucher upon full payment of your booking, please log into the Manage Your Booking https://www.dnatatravel.com/v2/?returnUrl=/manage-your-booking/login.aspx section on our website or app using your accommodation booking reference. You will then be able to print your accommodation voucher, which you'll need to present to your hotel upon check in.   Transfers A confirmation will have been emailed to you once your booking is confirmed. You can reprint this from Manage Your Booking https://www.dnatatravel.com/v2/?returnUrl=/manage-your-booking/login.aspx  if you do not have a copy. It is important you have this as it will have key information that you will need, such as where to find your pick up point and your re confirmation details.   Visa and passports All of the above is what you need from dnata Travel. Passports, visas etc you will need to check www.fco.gov.uk to see if you need a visa and how much length you need on your passport before it expires.

When should I arrive at the airport?

We advise all passengers arrive two and a half hours before departure on short haul flights and three hours before departure on long haul flights. We would also recommend you plan your route ahead before you travel and allow plenty of time for traffic and possible delays through airport security.

How can I change my board basis?

For a quote to change your board basis, please log into the Manage Your Booking https://www.dnatatravel.com/v2/?returnUrl=/manage-your-booking/login.aspx section on our website or app. You will then be able to raise a CSR (Customer Support Request), advising us of the changes you require. We will then action your request within the next 3 business days. Please note priority is given to urgent requests relating to bookings close to departure.

How do I change my room type?

To amend your booking, please log into the Manage Your Booking https://www.dnatatravel.com/v2/?returnUrl=/manage-your-booking/login.aspx section on our website or app. You will then be able to raise a CSR (Customer Support Request), advising us of the changes you require. We will then action your request within the next 3 business days. Please note priority is given to urgent requests relating to bookings close to departure.

How long does it take to confirm my booking?

Whilst we do our best to confirm your travel plans with the providers within seconds, on rare occasions it could take a little longer. We advise that booking requests could take up to 12 hours to confirm with providers. If you haven't received your booking confirmation with the provider's reference number after the initial 12 hours, please please log into the Manage Your Booking https://www.dnatatravel.com/v2/?returnUrl=/manage-your-booking/login.aspx section on our website or app and check your details there.

Why does my hotel not know about my booking?

We understand that in some cases, you may wish to contact your accommodation directly before you travel. If your hotel is unable to locate your booking in your name, this is not something to worry about. dnata Travel acts as an agent for your booking, and the accommodation providers that we book through usually only tell the hotel how many rooms they have sold and do not release the guest names until 1-2 weeks prior to check in. However, we can of course contact your accommodation provider and request for your names to be released early to your accommodation. To request the early release of your names, please log into the Manage Your Booking https://www.dnatatravel.com/v2/?returnUrl=/manage-your-booking/login.aspx section on our website or app using your accommodation booking reference number. . You will then be able to raise a Customer Support Request (CSR), advising us that you wish for your names to be released early. We will action your request within the next 2 business days. Please note priority is given to urgent requests relating to bookings close to departure.

Can I pay with a cheque or bank transfer?

We do not accept payment by cheque or bank transfer. However, we do not charge you to pay using a debit card.

Can I organise a late check out?

Prebooking a late check out is not something that can be organised. This is because the hotels will need to get the rooms ready for the next guest for when check in opens. If you want to arrange this, then we would recommend speaking to reception upon check in to see if you can pay locally to keep the room for longer, or if they have specific rooms for this service. The vast majority of hotels will hold onto your bags until you leave for the airport, if you want them to. This means you can check out and leave your bags behind, so you can make the most of your holiday time before moving on.

Can I add meals to my flight?

A lot of airlines only offer a buy-on-board service. If you did not get the option to add meals when you made the booking then that means it will be a trolley service on board. We can always check if meals are an option for you; please either raise a Customer Support Request (CSR) through Manage Your Booking or give us a call at 800 dnata (36282).

How do I make a group booking?

We can help you sort out a group booking. If you need to book more than three hotel rooms or more than twelve passengers on a flight, please complete our group booking request form here https://www.dnatatravel.com/help/groupbookings.aspx and our agents will do their best to get back to you promptly with a quote. We can arrange group bookings of any size for flights, accommodation or both. We can also arrange group transfers to get you all safely to your hotel. Before completing this form, we suggest you use our website https://www.dnatatravel.com/ to search for flights and accommodation and get an idea of the options available. If you are booking accommodation, you must give us the name of the specific hotel you would like to stay in or we will not be able to obtain a quote for you, and it will help us if you can specify preferred flight times from those that you have seen in our search results.

What does the board basis mean?

What does board basis mean, and how does it relate to RO, SC, BB, HB, FB or AI? Board basis simply means the sort of dining arrangements that you have selected for your holiday. For example you may have selected a hotel which cooks all your meals for you and which are included in the price. Or, you may have selected an apartment with cooking facilities, which means you arrange your own meals. Board basis meanings and abbreviations are as follows: Room Only (RO) means that no meals will be included in the price you have paid for your accommodation/holiday package.Self Catering (SC) means that no meals are included in the cost of your accommodation/holiday package, but you will be provided with catering facilities in your accommodation to cook light meals.Bed and Breakfast (BB) means that breakfast is included in the price you have paid for your accommodation/holiday package.Half Board (HB) means that your breakfast and evening meal is included in the price you have paid for your accommodation/holiday package. In some cases you can choose to receive lunch instead of breakfast - the hotel will confirm this upon arrival.Full Board (FB) means that breakfast, lunch and evening meals are included in the price you have paid for your accommodation/holiday package. All Inclusive (AI) means all meals and locally produced drinks are included.

Can I remove someone from my booking?

Please log into the Manage Your Booking section on our website or app using your booking reference number. You will then be able to raise a Customer Support Request (CSR) to make your request.

What visa do I need to travel?

This is dependent on your country of destination and the passport you hold. You may be required to obtain a visa for some destinations (including for transit points) and it is your responsibility to do so prior to travel. If you require any further information on visa requirements, please contact one of our local dnata offices or the embassy of the country to which you will be traveling. A failure to travel with the correct documentation could result in the passenger being refused travel, entry to the country of their destination or stop-over or transit point, deportation or incarceration and in such circumstance(s) you will be solely responsible for any cost, loss or damage which you or we (or our agents or servants) incur. We accept no responsibility for customers who do not possess the correct documents and Visas.

Why are names missing off of my accommodation voucher?

When you are booking a hotel by itself, we will only need one traveller's name. This is because the hotel will only need the name of one guest. As long as your booking is for the correct amount of people then we do not require any other names.

I am travelling with children, what is my baggage allowance?

All airlines have different policies about children and what you can take (car seats, buggy, etc). To find out more, please check your airline's FAQs, where you will be able to find out what you can take with you.

Can I take sports equipment on my flight?

Many airlines allow items such as golf clubs, surfboards and skis to be carried at an additional charge. This charge is usually reduced if you pre-book. In some cases you may not be able to take additional sporting items if they are not booked in advance. If you have booked a transfer with us or car hire, we will need to ensure that your sports equipment can be transported on your transfer vehicle or for the car you are renting. To arrange the carriage of sports equipment on your booking, please log into the Manage Your Booking http://www.dnatatravel.com/v2/?returnUrl=/manage-your-booking/login.aspx  section on our website or app using your flight booking reference number. You will then be able to raise a Customer Support Request (CSR), advising us of the changes you require. We will then action your request within the next 2 business days. Please note priority is given to urgent requests relating to bookings close to departure.

Do I have to pay in full?

All products must be paid in full at the time of making your booking.

How can I raise a complaint?

dnata Travel strives to deliver the highest standards of customer service and treats all issues raised by customers very seriously. If you do wish to submit a formal complaint, please email our Customer Relations Department at [email protected] .  Please give us as much detail as possible. Include receipts, photos or other supporting documentation. As valued dnata customers, we will acknowledge your correspondence within 14 days and reply within 28 days.

What is my baggage allowance?

The amount of baggage you can take is determined by two factors. Your flight provider and the airline they use, and the regulations relating to security. Your flight provider will advise the available baggage allowance at the time your booking is made or when they send out your e-tickets. The most likely baggage allowance will be 15 or 20kg, but can only be confirmed by ticket. Low Cost Carriers charge for check-in baggage, which must be added at the time the booking is made, or before departure, to avoid higher charges. The security regulations regarding baggage can usually be found on the web-site of the airport you are departing from.

Can I pay with more than one card?

We can only take payment from one card when you initially make your booking.

What is 'Verified by Visa/MasterCard'?

Using Verified by Visa or MasterCard® SecureCode™, your Visa/MasterCard will work just as it does now. It will also work with online retailers who are not yet offering the Verified by Visa service. The Verified by Visa and MasterCard® SecureCode™ scheme is quick and easy to use and features the following: Greater protection against the unauthorised use of your card for online purchases A straightforward and hassle-free service that fits neatly into the online buying process Enhanced online security with the use of a password/memorable name, without the need for any additional software.

dnata’s chief executive Steve Allen says “there is significant scope for consolidation in airport ground handling globally”

Reuters

Emirates Group’s dnata, which provides airport and travel services in over 30 countries, is looking at merger and acquisition (M&A) opportunities across several businesses and geographies, including South America, its CEO said on Tuesday.

“We are probably, at any time, talking to 40 different companies” and “plenty” of deals are “at the end of the pipeline”, chief executive Steve Allen told Reuters , noting the company focuses on small to medium size acquisitions.

South America is “a huge growth market opportunity” he said, mentioning countries such as Brazil. He added that globally there was significant scope for consolidation in airport ground handling.

Founded in 1959, dnata is a sister company to Emirates airline. Its operations include supplying airlines with catering and handling baggage and cargo. It also owns companies that sell holiday packages and provide retail and corporate travel booking services.

dnata’s earnings

dnata ‘s profit in the year ended March 31 more than quadrupled to Dhs1.4bn($381.2m), according to the Emirates Group annual report released on Monday.

The aviation service giant’s revenues, which climbed nearly 30 per cent to Dhs19.2bn, were boosted by more flights and travel globally.

Allen told reporters the results were also helped by long-terms business contracts that dnata renegotiated recently to factor in higher wage rates and food costs.

He said the financial impact of the huge storm that hit the UAE last month, which brought Dubai’s airport to a standstill and led to hundreds of flight cancellations, “was not too significant”.

Any impact would be reflected in its current fiscal year, which started in April.

Emirates Group reported a 71 per cent surge in annual profit to a record Dhs18.7bn and said it would pay its owner, Dubai’s sovereign wealth fund ICD, a dividend of Dhs4bn.

Several companies including Parkin and Dubai Taxi Corporation have gone public as part of the Dubai government’s privatisation programme aimed at listing state-linked companies and boosting the local stock exchange.

Asked about potential IPO plans for dnata, Allen said that the firm was “a profitable, strong company”, but it was up to the government to decide on any listing.

“On the other hand, aviation is absolutely at the heart of the success of Dubai, and therefore maybe you want to keep more control over aviation. So, I can see the pros and cons,” he added.

dnata announces major enhancements to global ground support equipment (GSE) fleet at Dubai Airport Show

dnata travel instagram

dnata, a leading global air and travel services provider, signed significant deals with leading manufacturers, locking in five-year global framework contracts for new Ground Support Equipment (GSE) at the Dubai Airport Show. These contracts boast an estimated total value of over US$ 210 million over their lifespan. dnata has already committed orders worth over US$ 29 million from the agreements, setting firm foundations for future transactions over the next five years. The advanced vehicles will further enhance efficiency, safety and sustainability across dnata’s global network, helping it to continue to deliver world-class services for its over 330 airline customers. The contracts include a planned investment of over US$ 100 million in GSE for dnata’s Dubai fleet, driven by sustained solid demand and projected further, significant growth. dnata currently operates a fleet of 2,500 motorised GSE at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC) airports, providing quality and safe services to over 190 airlines. The GSE will be provided by eight international manufacturers, with deliveries starting from May 2024. Steve Allen, CEO of dnata Group, said: “We are committed to investing in best-in-class equipment and working with renowned partners to provide superior value and services to our customers. Today’s newly announced deals reflect our long-term strategy to constantly enhance our capabilities and adapt to the evolving needs of our industry. We will continue to invest in modern fleet and the latest technologies to remain at the forefront of the industry.” Globally, dnata operates over 8,000 pieces of motorised GSE across its ground handling, cargo and catering & retail operations which cover over 130 airports across six continents. In meeting its sustainability targets dnata understands that electrification is not the only solution to its ground handling fleet strategy. It carefully considers climatic conditions and available infrastructure and, working closely with manufacturers and airports on practical solutions, invests in a mix of equipment types including biodiesel, electric, and hybrid to maximise environmental and operational efficiency globally. dnata is a leading global air and travel services provider. Established in 1959, the company offers quality and safe ground handling, cargo, travel, catering and retail services in over 30 countries across six continents. In the financial year 2023-24, dnata’s customer-oriented teams handled over 778,000 aircraft turns, moved 2.9 million tonnes of cargo, uplifted 123 million meals, and recorded a total transaction value (TTV) of travel services of US$ 2.4 billion.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The long-haul carrier Emirates announced Monday it saw record profits of $4.7 billion in 2023 as the airline fully took flight after the turbulent years of the coronavirus pandemic disrupted its operations.

Emirates, owned by Dubai’s government, announced revenues of $33 billion, compared to $29.3 billion the year before. Profit the year prior had been $2.9 billion.

The airline carried 51.9 million passengers in its 2023 financial year, as compared to 43.6 million the year prior.

“Throughout the year, we saw high demand for air transport and travel related services around the world, and because we were able to move quickly to deliver what customers want, we achieved tremendous results,” Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the chairman and CEO of Emirates, said in a statement.

“We are reaping the benefit of years of non-stop investments in our products and services, in building strong partnerships, and in the capabilities of our talented people.”

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, praised the airline, noting it “took off 39 years ago and the world of aviation is no longer what it was before.”

“What is coming will be more beautiful, greater and better, God willing,” Sheikh Mohammed wrote on the social platform X.

The Emirates’ results track with those for its base, Dubai International Airport . The world’s busiest airport for international travelers had 86.9 million passengers last year, surpassing numbers for 2019 just before the coronavirus pandemic grounded global aviation. The airport had 89.1 million passengers in 2018 — its busiest-ever year before the pandemic.

The airport now plans to move to the city-state’s second, sprawling airfield in its southern desert reaches in the next 10 years in a project worth nearly $35 billion .

The overall Emirates Group, which includes travel company dnata, as well as food, beverage and leisure holdings, reported profits of $5.1 billion off revenues of $37.4 billion.

The group declared a dividend to its owner, the sheikhdom’s sovereign wealth fund known as the Investment Corporation of Dubai, of $1 billion. It also gave its over 112,000 employees 20-weeks bonus pay, according to an internal email sent to staff seen by The Associated Press.

The city-state, one of seven hereditarily ruled, autocratic sheikhdoms that make up the United Arab Emirates, provided Emirates some $4 billion in a bailout at the height of the pandemic . The annual report said Emirates had repaid $2.6 billion of that loan during the last financial year.

In November, Emirates announced a $52 billion deal to purchase 90 Boeing 777 aircraft, 55 of them 777-9 variants and 35 of them 777-8s. Emirates will also add an additional five 787 Dreamliners to its previous order of 30 aircraft.

For years, Emirates has relied on the Boeing 777 and the double-decker Airbus A380 to ferry passengers around the world. That will change in September, when Emirates says it will begin flying the Airbus A350 on routes.

The airline has also embarked on a $2 billion retrofit program for its aircraft.

But challenges remain for the carrier. Saudi Arabia plans to push into the market with Riyadh Air, a new carrier that made a jet deal valued around $37 billion with Boeing just last year with the flagship carrier Saudia.

Climate change may be another concern as well — the wider UAE saw its heaviest recorded rainfall ever last month , which disrupted Emirates’ flights for days.
