Want to surprise your partner with a bouquet of roses or a bottle of champagne waiting in your room? Carnival has got you covered. With their pre-order service , you can arrange for special gifts to be delivered to your stateroom. It’s the little things, like waking up to breakfast in bed or finding a box of chocolates on your pillow, that make your cruise even more special. And the best part? You don’t have to pack these surprises in your luggage. Just pre-order, and Carnival will handle the rest, ensuring your honeymoon starts with a delightful surprise.

3. Buy a drinks package so you can fully relax

Imagine lounging on the deck, the sun warming your skin, and a refreshing drink in hand. Sounds perfect, right? Carnival offers a drinks package that allows you to indulge in a variety of beverages without worrying about the bill. Whether you’re a fan of tropical cocktails, fine wines, or just a good old-fashioned soda, there’s something for everyone. It’s like having a well-deserved getaway within your getaway! By opting for a drinks package, you ensure that your honeymoon is truly a time to unwind, celebrate, and toast to your future together.

4. Consider upgrading to a suite

Your honeymoon is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so why not make it extra special? Upgrading to a suite with Carnival offers a plethora of benefits. From spacious rooms with breathtaking ocean views to exclusive amenities, it’s all about luxury and comfort. Imagine sharing a romantic bath or enjoying breakfast on a private balcony. It’s these intimate moments, away from the hustle and bustle, that make your cruise memorable. Plus, with the added space, you can pack that extra outfit or two without any worries!

5. Choose one of the newer Carnival ships for the best experience

Carnival’s fleet is vast, but if you’re looking for the latest amenities, entertainment options, and state-of-the-art facilities, consider booking one of their newer ships . These vessels are designed with the modern traveler in mind, offering innovative features and a contemporary vibe. From world-class dining to cutting-edge theaters, every aspect is curated to enhance your experience. And remember, newer ships often mean more eco-friendly features, so you’re also making a choice that’s kinder to our planet.

6. Plan your days ashore in advance

While the allure of the open sea is undeniable, the ports of call are where you’ll create some of your most cherished memories. Whether it’s exploring ancient ruins, basking on pristine beaches, or tasting local delicacies, each destination offers a unique adventure. To make the most of your cruise vacation, plan your days ashore in advance. Research the must-visit spots, book excursions, or even jot down a few local phrases. Being prepared ensures you won’t miss out on any experiences and can fully immerse yourself in the local culture.

7. Don’t wear pineapple print during your cruise!

Now, this might sound a bit quirky, but there’s a fun tradition among seasoned cruisers: avoiding pineapple prints ! While pineapples are often associated with tropical vacations, in the cruising world, they’ve taken on a playful meaning of their own. Some say wearing pineapple prints might label you as a cruise newbie! So, if you want to blend in with the experienced cruisers and share a chuckle with those in the know, maybe leave that pineapple-printed shirt or dress at home. Remember, it’s all in good fun, and it’s these little inside jokes that make cruising such a unique and communal experience.

8. Treat yourself (and your partner) to specialty dining reservations

While the main dining rooms on Carnival ships offer a delightful array of dishes, there’s something truly special about their specialty dining options. Think of it as a date night, elevated. From succulent steaks to fresh seafood, these restaurants provide a gourmet experience that’s perfect for celebrating your honeymoon. It’s not just about the food; it’s about the ambiance, the attentive service, and those little touches that make the evening unforgettable. So, go ahead and reserve a table. After all, your honeymoon is the perfect excuse to indulge a little!

9. You can get a portrait photo to commemorate your honeymoon

What better way to remember your honeymoon than with a professional portrait photo ? Carnival offers couples the opportunity to capture their love against the backdrop of the vast ocean or elegant ship interiors. With skilled photographers on board, you’re guaranteed a shot that you’ll cherish for years to come. Whether it’s a candid moment or a posed picture, this keepsake will serve as a beautiful reminder of your time at sea. And who knows? It might just find a special place on your living room wall!

10. There are couples’ massages available for shared experiences

After a day of exploring or simply soaking up the sun, there’s nothing quite like a rejuvenating massage. And when it’s a couples’ massage , the experience becomes even more special. Carnival’s spa offers treatments designed for two, allowing you and your partner to relax and reconnect. The soothing ambiance, combined with skilled therapists, ensures you both leave feeling refreshed and even more in tune with each other. It’s not just a massage; it’s an experience that deepens your bond and adds another layer of intimacy to your honeymoon.

11. Room service is available 24/7

Late-night cravings or an early morning appetite? No worries! With Carnival’s 24/7 room service , you’re never too far from a delicious treat. Whether it’s a fresh salad, a hearty sandwich, or just a cup of tea, you can have it delivered straight to your stateroom. It’s those moments, like enjoying breakfast in bed with your partner or indulging in a midnight snack, that make your cruise experience truly luxurious. And the best part? You get to savor these meals in the comfort of your room, wrapped in a cozy robe, and with the one you love by your side.

12. Carnival WiFi can be expensive – which might be a good thing

While staying connected is essential for many, your honeymoon is the perfect time to disconnect and be present . Yes, Carnival offers WiFi packages, but they can be on the pricier side. Instead of seeing this as a drawback, consider it an opportunity. An opportunity to truly immerse yourself in the cruise experience, to engage in deep conversations with your partner, and to create memories without digital distractions. After all, the online world will always be there when you return, but these precious honeymoon moments are fleeting.

13. Take time to unwind in the Serenity Retreat

Every Carnival ship boasts a Serenity Retreat , an adults-only oasis designed for relaxation and tranquility. Picture this: plush loungers, serene surroundings, and the gentle sound of waves in the background. It’s the perfect spot to read a book, take a nap, or simply enjoy some quality time with your partner. The Serenity Retreat is a haven away from the bustling ship activities, offering couples a peaceful space to reconnect and cherish their time together.

14. Your waiters might sing to you at dinner

Dining on a Carnival ship is not just about the food; it’s an experience! And part of that experience is the delightful surprise of having your waiters serenade you . Whether it’s a classic love song or a fun tune, these impromptu performances add a touch of magic to your meal. It’s moments like these, where you’re clapping along or sharing a dance with your partner, that make your cruise memorable. So, don’t be shy! Embrace the fun, sing along, and let the music fill your heart with joy.

Final Thoughts

Embarking on a honeymoon is a journey of love, discovery, and creating memories that last a lifetime. And when it’s with Carnival Cruise , the experience is elevated to a whole new level. From the moment you step on board, you’re not just a passenger; you’re a cherished guest on a voyage crafted especially for newlyweds.

The attention to detail is evident in every aspect. Whether it’s the 24/7 room service catering to your whims, the Serenity Retreat offering a tranquil escape, or the delightful surprise of being serenaded by your waiters, Carnival ensures your honeymoon is nothing short of magical.

But it’s not just about the luxuries and amenities. It’s about the genuine effort to make every couple feel special. The option to disconnect from the digital world and truly connect with your partner, the personal touches like portrait photos, and the emphasis on shared experiences like couples’ massages all speak volumes about Carnival’s commitment to creating memorable moments.

In conclusion, if you’re looking for a Carnival Cruise honeymoon experience that seamlessly blends romance, adventure, luxury, and genuine warmth, Carnival Cruise Line is the way to go. It’s not just a cruise; it’s a love story waiting to be written.

  • Benefits: And what are these benefits?
  • Unparalleled comfort: Suites offer more space, luxury, and privacy.
  • Exclusive services: Enjoy priority boarding, spa access, and personal concierge service.

Choosing the Right Carnival Ship

Choosing your honeymoon’s Carnival ship is a crucial decision that’ll significantly impact your overall experience. You’ll need to consider the carnival ship amenities that are most important to you, such as spas, fine dining options, or entertainment events. Each ship offers unique features so it’s important to do your homework. Look for ships that cater to couples and have a romantic atmosphere.

Your choice of honeymoon cruise destinations also matters. Some Carnival ships are better suited for certain routes than others. If your dream is to explore the Caribbean, look for a ship that specializes in that region. Remember, your honeymoon is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Therefore, you should prioritize your preferences and desires to ensure you choose the right Carnival ship for an unforgettable experience.

This service offers a variety of menu options, from sumptuous breakfasts to midnight snacks. Here are some tips for utilizing it:

  • Experiment with different meals and snacks.
  • Ask for recommendations, the crew knows best.

However, like any service, it has its pros and cons:

  • Pros: Flexibility, variety, and privacy.
  • Cons: May have additional charges, food might not be as hot as in a restaurant.

To make the most of it, order ahead during peak times, and remember, it’s okay to indulge, you’re on your honeymoon! Every little detail, like using the room service, can enhance your cruise experience.

Costs of Carnival WiFi

While enjoying the convenience of room service, you might also want to stay connected online, but be aware that the cost of Carnival WiFi can be quite steep. Depending on the package you choose, carnival wifi charges can range from $16 to $25 per day. This can add up quickly, especially for longer cruises. If you’re planning to share a lot of photos, keep in mind that the basic plan doesn’t include social media. If you’re considering alternatives to carnival wifi, some ports provide free or cheap internet cafes. However, remember that you’re on your honeymoon. Disconnecting might be a blessing, allowing you to focus on each other and the fantastic voyage you’re embarking on together.

The Serenity Retreat Experience

Escape the hustle and bustle by unwinding in Carnival’s Serenity Retreat, an adults-only oasis designed expressly for tranquility and relaxation. All you have to do is to say the "I do" - and spend the wedding budget on a cruise ship vacation!

Carnival Cruise Wedding - CruiseMapper

While most couples prefer to say "I Do" on the ship, a sunset on an idyllic beach or in some of the Caribbean's lavish gardens are "special romance" choices is not to be missed - at all!

First tip for your Carnival cruise ship wedding - leave all the planning fuss to the ship's wedding/honeymoon specialist. You'll have to choose only your favorite of all the countless ideas for your most special every day at sea. Or you may set out all your preferences or concerns - there will be plenty of professional answers to all your questions, and numerous options for the type of ceremony itself - from simple to extravagant, traditional to exotic and adventurous, with the most unique requests.

Carnival cruise ship weddings as deals may provide lavish style and sophistication, as well as quiet and intimate choices - it's all about the money. The only rules to comply with are, one, that the ship must be docked at a US port or at permissible ports in the Caribbean (Puerto Rico, Barbados, Jamaica, Cozumel, Nassau, St Thomas), and two, cruise weddings must take place only in designated for this purpose areas. All Carnival Spirit-class ships have their own onboard wedding chapel (also used for religious services, see their names in the list below). On other ships, ceremonies usually take place in a lounge. Vows may also be exchanged on deck, but only if the ship is docked. As a rule, the captain is not allowed to perform a wedding ceremony, unless the ship is docked in Bermuda.

Carnival Cruise Wedding Policy and Rules

According to the Carnival Lines Wedding policy, you are allowed to invite family members and friends who are not passengers. They could join you on the ship while it's docked. Who and how can attend the ceremony? The type of Wedding Package purchased through Carnival determines the number of guests allowed to attend at the ceremony/reception. Sailing guests (paying passengers) will be allowed to participate as well.

Due to security reasons, there are some restrictions imposed on non-sailing guests - those are permitted to board the ship, but you'll have to compile a list of your special guests - their legal names, birthdays, state-issued IDs. Also, your guests will have to show proper identification upon boarding your ship. In some foreign ports, you may not be allowed to bring on board non-sailing guests at all. You should contact the relevant government officials or the ship's wedding coordinator for marriage license requirements/fees.

Not allowed on cruise weddings, restrictions

  • Not allowed are: bubbles, rice, birdseed, flower petals, confetti, balloons and candles, personal servers, knives, flowers, food, also outside photographers, entertainment, equipment.
  • Couples with their own minister - limited to a 20 min ceremony.
  • Couples with their own music - limited to 3 songs.
  • Guests' number limit is max 50 non-cruising guests per wedding.

Carnival cruise marriage license

You are responsible for obtaining a marriage license (which is for a fee) from your cruise wedding destination. You also have to know some stuff regarding the wedding regulations of that country. Some destinations require that you apply for the wedding license in person, others allow submitting an application via mail. The cost of marriage licenses varies by state - from $25 in Alaska to $150 (Florida). Often, your Carnival wedding coordinator can assist you in obtaining your license (for a fee, of course) or at least can provide you with all the information needed to apply for one.

Carnival Cruise Wedding-Honeymoon Registry

  • Step 1 - register your Wedding/Honeymoon plans! Signup for free at, select the destination, register for activities, tours and excursions, cabin upgrades, etc.

In this article, I’ll be sharing 14 essential tips for planning the perfect Carnival Honeymoon Cruise. From choosing the right room and dining options to adding special touches for honeymooners, I’ve got you covered.

But before we dive into the details, let’s talk about why a Carnival Honeymoon Cruise is the ultimate choice for couples who crave freedom and adventure. So grab your partner’s hand and let’s set sail!

  • Pre-order gifts and consider getting a drinks package for added relaxation
  • Upgrade to a suite for a more special experience and take advantage of the perks such as priority boarding and free laundry
  • Plan ahead for days ashore and specialty dining reservations, and take advantage of couples’ massages and portrait photos to commemorate the honeymoon
  • Avoid wearing pineapple prints and be aware that Carnival is a family-friendly cruise line with lots of kids around.

Planning Your Experience

I always make sure to plan my days ashore in advance when going on a Carnival honeymoon cruise, as it’s one of the important tips for planning your perfect experience.

It’s important to consider budget considerations and take advantage of itinerary planning to make the most of your time on shore. Research the ports of call and find activities that suit your interests and budget. Whether it’s a romantic stroll on the beach, a cultural excursion, or an adventure tour, there are plenty of options to choose from.

Another important consideration is the timing of your excursions. Make sure to schedule them around the ship’s departure time to avoid any delays or missed connections. It’s also a good idea to book your excursions in advance to secure your spot and avoid disappointment.

By planning your days ashore in advance, you’ll be able to make the most of your time on your Carnival honeymoon cruise and create lasting memories with your partner.

Room and Dining Options

Indulging in the mouth-watering cuisine offered at the main dining room or booking a specialty restaurant reservation can create a memorable dining experience during your honeymoon cruise. The main dining room menu is excellent and offers a variety of dishes to satisfy everyone’s taste buds. The ambiance is also romantic, making it a perfect setting for a candlelit dinner with your significant other.

For a more premium culinary experience, consider booking a reservation at one of the specialty restaurants on board. While these restaurants come with an extra fee, they offer a unique menu with premium dishes for a more intimate dining experience. The romantic ambiance of these restaurants is perfect for couples looking for a more upscale dining experience during their honeymoon cruise.

Special Touches for Honeymooners

Opting for a couples’ massage at the onboard spa can provide a relaxing and intimate experience for honeymooners. Imagine being wrapped in plush robes, sipping on champagne, and enjoying a soothing massage with your significant other. This is the perfect way to unwind and connect after a busy day exploring the ship or taking romantic excursions on land.

For honeymoon gift ideas, consider setting up contributions towards specialty dining reservations, drinks packages, or shore excursions through Carnival Wishes registry. This allows family and friends to contribute towards experiences that will make your honeymoon unforgettable.

And don’t forget to capture the memories with a portrait photo or two – the official photographers on board are available to snap the perfect shot of you and your loved one.

Things to Consider Before Booking

Before making any cruise bookings, it’s important to carefully consider various factors such as ship amenities, dining options, and excursion opportunities to ensure a memorable and enjoyable trip.

When it comes to a honeymoon cruise with Carnival, it’s important to first compare costs and itinerary options. Carnival offers a range of ships with different itineraries, so make sure to choose one that fits your preferences and budget.

In addition, consider the dining options available on the ship. While the main dining room menu is excellent, specialty restaurants come with a premium menu and an additional cost.

It’s also important to plan your days ashore in advance and pre-order gifts for your stateroom. Don’t forget to check out the suite perks, such as priority boarding and free laundry, for a more luxurious experience.

By considering these factors, you can ensure a perfect honeymoon cruise with Carnival.

What is the average cost for a Carnival Honeymoon Cruise?

The cost of a Carnival honeymoon cruise varies based on factors such as destination, length of trip, and stateroom type. Popular destinations include the Caribbean and Mexico. Prices can start at around $500 per person.

Are there any age restrictions for couples looking to book a Carnival Honeymoon Cruise?

There are no age restrictions for booking a Carnival honeymoon cruise, but there are booking requirements such as providing valid identification and payment information. It’s important to check the cruise line’s policies and requirements before booking.

Can you bring your own alcohol on board a Carnival Honeymoon Cruise?

Bringing your own alcohol on a Carnival honeymoon cruise may seem like a smart move, but there are pros and cons to consider. Alternatives include buying a drinks package or enjoying the included beverages. As for me, I prefer to indulge in the ship’s offerings.

Is there a dress code for dining on a Carnival Honeymoon Cruise?

Dining attire on a Carnival cruise is typically casual, but formal nights require dressier clothing. Check with your specific ship for exact guidelines. Remember, it’s your honeymoon – feel free to express yourselves!

How far in advance should you book a Carnival Honeymoon Cruise to ensure availability?

The best times to book a Carnival honeymoon cruise are during the off-season or early in the year. Be sure to check cancellation policies and book as far in advance as possible to ensure availability.

Everything You Need to Know About Booking a Honeymoon Cruise

Here's what to consider when honeymooning on the water, according to travel experts.

carnival cruise line honeymoon package

By the time you’ve finalized your wedding’s guest list, figured out your menu, and fronted all your deposits, you may not really have the energy or brain power to plan all the details of a honeymoon vacation. Some couples may find it most relaxing to choose something uncomplicated, where the itinerary is already booked for you—like a romantic cruise. “The last thing most couples want to do is coordinate a complicated honeymoon after planning a wedding,” shares Karen Thomas, senior director of brand marketing and external communications at Seabourn , a luxury cruise line. “A cruise makes things easy as your accommodations, meals, activities, and entertainment are all taken care of with a few clicks of a keyboard or a phone call to a travel agent who can help plan your trip.”

In addition to that, couples can look forward to getting a significant amount of sightseeing in while maintaining one home base (no hotel hopping, no packing up your bags every few days). “There’s something to be said about never having to worry about travel hassles like getting from Point A to Point B, or how to decipher train schedules in another language—an excellent first married fight said no one ever!” says Dianna Rom, Vice President of Sales for Windstar Cruises . “Plus, you won’t have to waste any time checking in and out of hotels and you don’t need to unpack and pack a suitcase multiple times.”

Not only will the consistent home base provide that sense of home-away-from-home, but couples will truly have their pick of romantic destinations when choosing the best cruise line for their ideal vacation. Some dreamy examples: A Uniworld French river cruise begins in Paris, then takes guests through the French countryside to explore chateaus, the gardens of Monet, and D-Day’s Normandy beaches. Windstar sails to some of the world’s most romantic places, including Tahiti and the Tuamotu/Marquesas Islands in the South Pacific, while Virgin Voyages offers honeymooners amorous journeys from Tuscany to Ibiza. And there are a lot more.

Sounds downright dreamy, right? Ahead, find advice from travel experts about how to navigate booking the honeymoon cruise of a lifetime, from choosing a destination and cruise line to considering things like budget, adults-only experiences, and more.

Meet the Expert

  • Karen Thomas is the senior director of brand marketing and external communications at Seabourn , a luxury cruise line.
  • Brad Ball is a media spokesperson for Silversea cruises.
  • Dianna Rom is the vice president of sales for Windstar Cruises .
  • Kara Bebell is a honeymoon and destination wedding expert at Travel Siblings , a Virtuoso Agency in New York, New York.
  • Farah Barhorst is the senior manager of guest experience and product development for Holland America .

Evaluate Your Budget and Look for Honeymoon Package Options

If you spent an arm and a leg on a once-in-a-lifetime dress or a 10-piece band for your wedding, it’s understandable why spending a lot of money for a honeymoon could have you feeling uneasy. Yet, except for miscellaneous on-board charges or items you may purchase in port areas, there typically aren't many unexpected costs or add-ons to worry about when taking a cruise (translation: no surprise credit card charges once you return from your honeymoon). “That’s the beauty of door-to-door fares that include everything from flights, transfers, food and beverage, tipping, WiFi, on-board entertainment, and shore excursions,” says Brad Ball, a Silversea cruise spokesperson.

Many cruise lines also promote specific honeymoon-inclusive romance packages: On Norwegian Cruise Line , newlyweds can celebrate their nuptials with in-room treats such as breakfast in bed, couples' massages, and chocolate-covered strawberries. Holland America Line offers extras like a dozen red roses and complimentary robes, and on Aqua Expeditions , honeymooners are presented with a heart-shaped chocolate cake and a bottle of champagne along with a bed sprinkled with flower petals. Silversea’s butlers can create any romantic experience a couple may desire, including an in-room private dinner and aromatherapy bath.

Consider Booking an Adults-Only Cruise

If kids running around a pool for hours isn’t your idea of a romantic or relaxing honeymoon, consider an adults-only cruise line, like Viking or Virgin Voyages , where guests need to be at least 18 years of age to sail. Or, one that provides an adult-only private area on the ship, like Celebrity Retreat and Norwegian’s The Haven , where guests have exclusive access to concierges, sundecks, restaurants, and lounges ( Royal Caribbean , Princess Cruises , and Holland America Line also promote cruise-within-a-cruise offerings). Azamara and Oceania Cruises accept guests of any age, but they discourage families from sailing with children under 18 years old as they don’t offer children’s or babysitting services. If you do honeymoon on a ship that allows kids: “Try to avoid holiday sailings,” advises Kara Bebell, a honeymoon and destination wedding expert at Travel Siblings , a Virtuoso Agency in New York, New York.

Look at the Cuisine Offerings and Chef-Owned Restaurants

One of the best parts of honeymooning is getting the chance to indulge in delicious and elevated meals with your new spouse—and if you're a foodie couple, some cruises are really tailored toward specialty dining experiences, so consider that element when choosing a cruise line and itinerary. Many of the cruise menus found on ships have been designed by the world’s leading chefs: On Celebrity Beyond , guests can enjoy meals at Le Voyage, Daniel Boulud’s 45-seat restaurant at sea. On Aqua Expedition’s Aqua Mekong , an immersive cultural journey is inspired by Michelin-starred chef David Thompson. Oceania has meals curated by celebrity chef Jacques Pepin and Ponant and Holland America Line’s menus have been designed by James Beard Award winners, Alain Ducasse and David Burke, respectively. The Chef’s Table on Viking (where sommeliers and culinary masters create the perfect pairing of food and wine during a multi-course tasting) and S.A.L.T. (an immersive culinary concept that brings authenticity to Silversea’s cuisine through locally sourced products, market trips, and visiting chef demonstrations) are just two examples of unique oceanic-based food programs. Looking to eat healthy? Lines such as Windstar are debuting gluten-free, vegan menus with no added salt or oil in addition to their existing omnivore and vegetarian options.

Think About How Adventurous You Want to Be

“Couples can choose what type of lifestyle they’d like to adapt once on board—starting their day with breakfast in bed as they watch the coastline pass or on an adventurous excursion. Or both!” says Farah Barhorst, the senior manager of guest experience and product development for Holland America. For couples who equate fun with adventure , expedition ships in far-flung places like the Antarctic or those closer to home in the Great Lakes and Canada bring excitement to the seas. On Viking, you can cruise to all three of these regions with opportunities to hike the land and learn about wildlife or dive beneath the ocean’s surface in one of their expedition ship’s submarines. On Seabourn Venture, couples can celebrate in Antarctica and the Arctic alongside a 26-person onboard expedition team made up of naturalists, historians, and scientists.

But expedition ships aren’t the only place you’ll find fun. From helicoptering over glaciers in Alaska, zip-lining through Costa Rican jungles, hiking a volcano in Iceland, or navigating a quad bike in Australia, Holland America Line offers a bounty of options for honeymooners looking for unique adventures. And on Norwegian Cruise Line’s sailing to Hawaii , honeymooners will find an array of romantic excursions from snorkeling with turtles in Molokini Crater to watching a sunset from above the clouds on the top of Summit Haleakala.

However, if you’re simply exhausted after all the wedding madness or don’t have the energy for sightseeing and would rather stay on the ship and luxuriate, you can absolutely do that too. Today’s cruise lines provide plenty of on-site offerings from cooking and photography classes to wine tasting to talks with famous guest lecturers to keep you busy.

Research Romantic Activities Offered Aboard the Ship

There’s nothing more romantic than looking up at the stars , your new spouse’s arms wrapped around your waist. Many cruise lines have tapped into that moment by offering nighttime programs such as Celebrity’s Glamping and Stargazing in the Galapagos , which starts with a dinner featuring campfire-themed treats and cocktails, followed by a naturalist-guided stargazing session under the stars and an overnight in a cabana. On SeaDream’s fleet of yachts, you can camp out overnight on a Balinese bed, while honeymooners on two of Lindblad Expeditions' National Geographic ships gather around a deckside fire pit and sleep overnight in igloos that come with a mattress and a duvet warmed by hot water bottles.

If you prefer to stay in your room, a butler will arrange a dinner on your veranda that includes cozy blankets, candles, and a heater as you look out at the glacial landscape on Silversea in the Antarctic, while Virgin Voyages has placed custom-designed hammocks, handwoven by artisans from Yellow Leaf (a social enterprise that fosters women's empowerment in rural Thailand) on all their terraces (their rooms also feature mood lighting that reflects the blue seas and gold to purple sunsets outside).

Unwind Post-Wedding by Booking Wellness Experiences

For honeymooners looking to recharge after months of stressful wedding planning , a relaxing spa-at-sea experience is just another reason to book a cruise—and you may want to consider booking these experiences within the first days of cruising so that you can unwind right away.

From seaweed wraps to acupuncture to meditation and yoga classes, treatments on cruise ships rival any you’d find on land. On Norwegian, guests can soak in a flotation salt pool and experience the industry’s only charcoal sauna to help remove toxins from the body and on Seabourn, integrative medicine expert Dr. Andrew Weil has created a program that integrates physical, environmental, and spiritual well-being.

More good news: Access to these services is free of charge on many cruise lines, like the Scandinavian-style facilities on Viking (think: A snow grotto and heated loungers) or a 60-minute couples massage on two of Aqua Expeditions ships. And if you’re looking to relax in your suite, honeymooners can almost always request complimentary in-room offerings like yoga mats and meditation pillows on ships like Celebrity.

Which company ship you choose is so important to have the best cruise experience

You may wonder, is a cruise is good for honeymoon? What are the best honeymoon cruises? Where are the best destinations for cruise honeymoons? What are the best honeymoon cruise lines?

Best Honeymoon Cruise Lines

Royal caribbean.

Royal Caribbean International has some of the world’s most fun and innovative ships and it will always be one of the best honeymoon cruise lines.

The first thing to mention is that, despite the name, they don’t just cruise Caribbean destinations !

They have many beautiful itineraries on their honeymoon cruises. They go to the top-rated honeymoon destinations in the world, but honestly, it’s hard to tear yourself away from the ship because of the sheer number of fun things to do onboard.

From surfing to rock climbing to bumper cars, there are so many fun things to do on a Royal Caribbean cruise . There’s also a vast array of places to wine and dine!

While Royal Caribbean are extremely family-friendly , don’t let that put you off choosing this cruise line.

It’s still one of the best honeymoon cruises with ample adult-only areas like the beautiful Solarium area, meaning that they’re perfect for a honeymoon, too!

We’d recommend the Oasis Class and Quantum Class ships, as these are the biggest and best with the most amenities and dining options on board.

While their older ships don’t have as many bells and whistles, they do have some interesting itineraries that are worth considering when you’re searching for the best honeymoon cruises.

Older ships can be excellent value if you’re on a tighter budget, too. Royal Caribbean has a new cruise ship launching almost every year .

Icon of the Seas is launching late January 2024 and will be the biggest ship in the world under RC’s new Icon class of ship.

Utopia of the Seas will join in summer 2024 and join the incredible line up of Oasis class ships.

Cabin Types

The entry-level room / cabin type is called Interior Stateroom.

If budget allows, we’d recommend at least an Ocean View Stateroom, which has a porthole window.

However, for a honeymoon, a balcony is very desirable as it will give you more space and a beautiful view. On some newer ships, you have private balconies looking in on the interior of the ship.

These are called Neighbourhood Balcony Staterooms and Central Park Balcony Staterooms, which can be great value compared to Ocean View Balcony Staterooms .

On some newer ships, you’ll also find innovative Virtual Balcony Staterooms.

We love the Royal Suites with upgraded VIP extras across 3 tiers – choose between Sea, Sky & Star class for the ultimate in Royal Caribbean luxury.

Dining & Drinking

Royal Caribbean is renowned for extensive and innovative dining options . Included as standard are all meals and snacks.

For breakfast and lunch, you have high-quality buffet restaurants. For dinner, you will dine in the main dining room.

However, there are also many speciality restaurants to try which incur an extra cost. You can purchase speciality dining packages which we’d strongly recommend for foodie couples.

From sushi to steakhouses to seafood – you’ll be in heaven with the culinary delights you can find. It’s one reason Royal Caribbean is one of the best cruise lines.

Drinks are not included in your base cruise price, but you can add on drinks packages (including non-alcoholic packages and premium alcoholic drink packages) to your online Cruise Planner on the Royal Caribbean website before you embark.

If purchasing an alcohol drinks package, you must purchase for all passengers in your cabin (i.e. no buying one drinks package and sharing)

Don’t feel you have to purchase a drinks package. If you’re not huge consumers of alcohol, it may not be the best value for you!

Other spending

Gratuities / Tips can be included at the time of booking.

Wi-Fi, excursions and spa services cost extra but can be included in a package with drinks and other extras prepaid after you book online with Royal Caribbean’s handy Cruise Planner.

Onboard activities

While facilities and amenities vary from ship to ship, let’s use Odyssey of the Seas as an example.

You can go on a skydive simulator and surf simulator, play laser tag, have a go at the rock-climbing wall, bumper cars, bungee trampoline, enjoy two pools with hammocks and sun loungers, Las Vegas-style shows, silent discos and of course, the casino!

Royal Caribbean Honeymoon Cruises We Love

We love this 9-night Greek Isles honeymoon cruise from Rome on Odyssey of the Seas with some honeymoon highlights like Capri and the Amalfi Coast and islands like Santorini and Mykonos

This 7-night Western Caribbean honeymoon cruise from Miami on the brand new Icon of the Seas taking in Mexico with a stop in the Bahamas.

Virgin Voyages

The newest kid on the block, courtesy of Richard Branson. We can only describe Virgin Voyages ‘ honeymoon cruises as adult-only playgrounds.

Traditionally, adult only cruises would attract an older cohort, closer to retirement age than just-married age (forgive us for generalising here!) but Virgin Voyages are turning cruising upside down with 21st-century honeymoon cruise ships.

It really is one of the most innovative honeymoon cruise lines. For entertainment, think of a festival at sea!

For foodies, there are 20+ places to eat (with no buffets). A 24/7 diner, Michelin-starred chefs curating the menus , mixologists and drinks to suit all budgets.

If you love to move, you’ll be in heaven with a Technogym equipment and scheduled training camps. They even have a tattoo parlour onboard. We’re kinda obsessed!

The cabins on Virgin Voyages’ ships, Scarlett Lady & Valiant Lady , are bright and contemporary, which is why we think it’s one of the best honeymoon cruise lines.

You have Insider cabins or Sea View cabins for couples on a budget. Upgrade to a Sea Terrace and you’ll find a cute hammock on your private balcony.

Go all out with a RockStar Quarters or Mega RockStar Quarters with big balconies, hammocks , marble bathrooms and exclusive access to Richard’s Rooftop. Taking honeymoon cruises to the next level.

Steakhouse, Korean BBQ, Mexican, Hawaiian, Italian? Virgin Voyages include all 20+ eateries in your cruise fare, another reason we think it’s one of the best honeymoon cruise lines.

Essential drinks (i.e. water, soft drinks, tea and coffee) are included as standard.

For alcoholic drinks, you can pay as you go or purchase a Bar Tab before boarding which you can spend how you like. Drink prices start relatively reasonably, with beers from $6 and cocktails from $9.

Gratuities / Tips, Wi-Fi and fitness classes are included. Besides alcoholic drinks, expect to pay extra for any shore excursions and spa treatments.

Both Scarlett Lady & Valiant Lady are almost identical, so you’ll find the same features on both ships.

They modeled the Aquatic Club pool deck on a mega-yacht . The Redemption Spa has a thermal suite with a mud room and salt room.

By night is where Virgin Voyages comes alive with the most innovative entertainment – late-night cabaret by a sexologist , elaborate circus shows, modern dance and absurdist nightclub shows .

The entertainment on Virgin Voyages makes it one of the most unique honeymoon cruise lines!

We love The Manor with its ‘moody and sexy 70s punk vibe’. The entrance alone will have you living your Studio 54 dreams .

Virgin Voyages Honeymoon Cruises We Love

We love this 15-night Australia, Bali & Singapore honeymoon cruise. Take an epic voyage from iconic Sydney along Australia’s east and north coast, stopping at the stunning Whitsunday Islands, Cairns for the Great Barrier Reef and Darwin, before hopping to Bali and end with a couple of days exploring Singapore.

Or, try this shorter 5-night Caribbean honeymoon cruise taking in the Dominican Republic and Bahamas from Miami.

virgin voyages scarlet lady one of the honeymoon cruises

Celebrity Cruises

Luxurious and adult-orientated contemporary ships with top-class dining, we love honeymoon cruises on Celebrity Cruises .

The restaurants and bars are chic and sophisticated, with menus crafted by a Michelin-starred chef.

On their latest ships, interior designers like Kelly Hoppen & Nate Berkus oversaw the interiors. Celebrity is truly one of the best honeymoon cruise lines.

Celebrity Cruises are also ideal for LGBTQ+ honeymoons with their annual Pride Party At Sea .

We’re obsessed with the innovative Edge class of ships. Celebrity Edge, Celebrity Apex, Celebrity Beyond and the latest ship to launch, Celebrity Ascent have features like the Magic Carpet .

This is a floating platform that can move up and down at the side of the ship, creating a different ambience depending on the deck it’s on!

Celebrity Cruises have all the typical accommodation options, including Inside Stateroom, Ocean View Staterooms and Veranda Staterooms.

You can also find the upgraded Concierge Class and one of our favourites, Aqua Class , for more space and personalised service.

The cabins will vary from ship to ship but the Edge Class cabins are slightly bigger. If you want to go all-out (it is your honeymoon after all!) opt for a suite with your own dedicated butler .

Celebrity is one of the best honeymoon cruise lines for luxurious decadence!

Celebrity Cruises has some fantastic dining options, including culinary workshops for food and wine connoisseurs.

For general eating and drinking, you have the buffet-style Oceanview Cafe plus the main dining room. On the Edge Series of ships, you’ll have the choice of 4 complimentary restaurants, ideal for a romantic dinner.

You’ll spend a little more on speciality restaurants like Tuscan Grille and Murano (which are worth it!).

Celebrity Cruises have an ‘all included’ upgrade which you can opt for at the time of booking, which includes their Classic Drinks package and Wi-Fi .

The fact that you can make it all-inclusive is one reason we think it’s amongst the best honeymoon cruise lines.

There are other drinks packages you can add on or upgrade to, like wine packages and premium drinks packages.

While you can book a ‘cruise only’ fare, we’d recommend going with the ‘All Included’ upgrade mentioned above to include drinks + Wi-Fi so you don’t have to worry too much about the bill at the end of your voyage.

Tips, shore excursions and spa treatments are not included , but you can book on their handy online Cruise Planner before travel.

While facilities and amenities vary from ship to ship, let us use Celebrity Beyond as an example. This ship is all about sophisticated spaces for discerning couples.

There are so many areas to explore, including the floating platform, The Magic Carpet , the adults-only Solarium , the casino and beautiful bars like the Sunset Bar and The Club.

Celebrity Cruises Honeymoon Cruises We Love

We love this beautiful 9-night Caribbean honeymoon cruise on the brand new Celebrity Ascent, taking in Caribbean highlights like Grand Cayman, Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire with a few days at sea to enjoy this magnificent ship.

Or check out this 10-night Italy, Greece, Croatia & Montenegro honeymoon cruise on Celebrity Beyond with some lesser discovered European stops included.

one of the best best honeymoon cruise lines, celebrity cruises, at night in dock

Norwegian Cruise Line / NCL

NCL is another of our favourite honeymoon cruise lines, with a vast array of amenities and gorgeous itineraries on their honeymoon cruises.

NCL are pioneers of freestyle dining , dispensing with the traditional dining of old with set sit-down times.

You can go all-inclusive with ‘free-at-sea’ including premium drinks , speciality restaurants and dining including.

Like most of the fun honeymoon cruise lines, NCL is family-friendly but they have plenty of adult-only spaces, too.

With epic itineraries (including one that cruises Hawaii all year, Pride of America ) you won’t be short of fabulous and fun options for honeymoon cruises.

If budget allows, consider The Haven with its fantastic adult-only deck. The Breakaway, Breakaway Plus , and Prima class of ships are newer, so go with one of these ships if possible.

Like other honeymoon cruise lines, you can find a range of cabins on NCL.

From Inside (no window), to Oceanview (porthole window) and Balcony staterooms.

They also have Spa Suite Cabins and our favourite The Haven, at the top of the ship with butler service and a private sundeck.

NCL includes as standard all meals and snacks. For breakfast and lunch, you have great buffet restaurants. For dinner, you will dine in the main dining room.

We really recommend exploring the speciality restaurants , for which you pay a supplement. Japanese, BBQ, Italian, seafood, steakhouse – you’ll find all of these onboard.

NCL is one of the best honeymoon cruise lines for food options.

You can include gratuities at the time of booking.

We’d recommend opting for ‘ Free At Sea’ upgrade , which includes premium drinks, Wi-Fi and speciality dining, plus a discount on excursions. Spa treatments are extra.

While facilities and amenities vary from ship to ship, let’s use Norwegian Prima as an example – with the most outdoor space of any ship in the world , you won’t be short on finding a spot to relax.

The deck is beautiful and we love the infinity hot tubs . There is a 10 deck water slide and tidal wave water slide for water lovers. You’ll also find bumper cars and mini golf.

By night, explore the virtual reality theatre, Broadway-style shows and a Las Vegas-style nightclub!

NCL Honeymoon Cruises We Love

We love this 16-day Transatlantic honeymoon cruise, which starts in Europe and ends in the Caribbean and has some fascinating stops, like Morocco & Cape Verde on the brand new ship Norwegian Viva.

This 11-day Northern Europe honeymoon cruise from London (Southampton) via Norway to Iceland is unique. Spend a few days exploring England before hopping onboard, stopping in Amsterdam & Brussels before voyaging through Norway for the magnificent fjords and ending up in Iceland.

Or consider this 7-day Alaska honeymoon cruise on Norwegian Bliss. Witness the magnificent Endicott Arm Fjord & Dawes Glacier and you can hug a husky on a shore excursion!

NCL norwegian cruise lines honeymoon cruise at sea

Other Honeymoon Cruise Lines

Choosing the best honeymoon cruise lines can be a little overwhelming with so many ships sailing around the world.

If you love the idea of a Royal Caribbean cruise , then you may have noticed that Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is quite similar.

Planning a honeymoon without breaking the bank ? Then consider Carnival Cruises or MSC Cruises .

If you’re thinking Carnival Cruise Line or MSC, opt for their newer ships and upgraded cabins for more luxury .

If you like the sound of Celebrity Cruises, Princess Cruises are fantastic (albeit a little more traditional than Celebrity). Holland America Line is another more traditional style cruise line.

Silversea Cruises , Regent Seven Seas , Oceania Cruises , Azamara Club Cruises and legendary luxury cruise line, Cunard , are ideal for couples looking for something smaller and more upscale.

These cruise lines offer a more traditional cruising experience and are renowned for their fine dining and extensive wine lists.

Entertainment and activities are more low-key than on some of the honeymoon cruises by bigger mega-liner ships. However, you will find all the typical features of a cruise ship, including shows, casino, spa and pool deck.

The honeymoon cruises on these cruise lines are all about the destinations, too.

The ships sometimes take you to smaller ports that the big ships can’t go to. This means getting to go to some of the world’s most romantic spots rather than big city ports of call.

Perfect for couples looking for something more intimate, who don’t care about bells and whistles like water slides and who want to dive deeper into some incredible destinations!

One thing to note is that at this ultra luxury end of the cruise market, the age profile of guests is often a lot older than the average age of couples getting married and planning a honeymoon cruise.

Now, we believe age is just a number , but it’s worth noting that the atmosphere on these ships is more classic.

If you’re looking for a livelier vibe , opt for the other honeymoon cruise lines we’ve mentioned, like Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises, NCL and Virgin Voyages, which attract a broader range of ages, to varying degrees!

Want to do something different to the big ocean liners?

Consider the small-ship yachts of Windstar Cruises or Paul Gauguin Cruises who have magnificent Pacific Island itineraries sailing to dream honeymoon destinations like Bora Bora in French Polynesia .

Consider a cruise on Disney . Disney Cruise Line is not just for families if you want to live our your fairytale fantasies, they might be the one for you!

So many honeymoon cruises and honeymoon cruise lines, so little time!

Cruise Seasons – Best Time To Cruise

You may be tied to specific dates for your honeymoon but knowing the best time to cruise in your dream destination is crucial so you have not just a great time, but the best time!

Destination, weather patterns, pricing? Here’s a quick guide on the ideal time for a honeymoon cruise.

Best time to cruise the Caribbean

A perennial favourite (who doesn’t love the white sandy beaches and laid back island vibes!), you can find a myriad of honeymoon cruise options in the Caribbean year round, sailing from North America.

However, the best time to plan a honeymoon cruise in the Caribbean is from December to April during the dry season .

From May to October is officially ‘hurricane season’ although later in the season, from September to early November are the riskiest months.

It’s worth noting that with modern weather technology, there is no safety risk to cruise during hurricane season but you can experience some rain. However, these months are the cheapest time to cruise the Caribbean.

Best time to cruise the Mediterranean

Some budget cruise ships sail the Mediterranean in winter even though it’s cold. However, the best time to plan a honeymoon cruise in the Mediterranean is between May and early October .

These months guarantee sun-kissed days and balmy evenings, perfect for exploring coastal towns, ancient ruins and cute seafront restaurants.

Late June to August is the peak of the tourist season and it is crowded and hot in Europe, including in ports so consider outside of these months for a more relaxed experience.

While some honeymoon cruise lines sail Europe from early April to late October, the tail end of the seasons the sea can be a bit colder and towns are quieter so it’s best for a more cultural honeymoon.

A Med cruise is the perfect way to see multiple countries, can’t decide between Italy and Greece ? Then a cruise is a great way to get a taste of both!

Best time to cruise Alaska

Cruise season in Alaska is from May to September . The peak months are late June to August, and we’d recommend this time, as it the temperatures are warmer and the days longer.

Best time to cruise Hawaii & the Pacific

You can cruise Hawaii year round but the best time to cruise the Hawaiian islands is from April to June and September to October.

For islands like Bora Bora in French Polynesia and Fiji, May to October offers dry, cooler weather, making it idyllic for beach activities and exploration.

Best time to cruise Asia

Asia is vast and varied, has different optimal times. the best time to cruise Southeast Asia is from November to March during the dry season.

For Japan, cruises sail from April to October . However, we can’t think of a more romantic setting, than wandering around Japan during cherry blossom season so consider April (or autumn foliage in October is really cool to see to, too).

Best time to cruise Australia & New Zealand

Let’s take you Down Under. The best time to cruise Australia is from October to April, aligning with their summer.

Although, Queensland and the northern states are in the midst of their rainy season from January to March , so earlier or later than these months is best.

In New Zealand, the best time to cruise is from December to March .

Honeymoon Cruise Tips

  • Book a night or two before your honeymoon cruise near the port. Not only will you get to enjoy a beautiful port city, but if there is a delay, you won’t be worried and stressed about making it on your cruise.
  • If you can afford it, book a balcony (or even better, a suite). Ideal for some quiet romantic moments and quality time away from the eyes of fellow passengers.
  • Pre-book your shore excursions . If you prebook, you won’t be disappointed that trips to the most popular destinations are sold out. Plus, if you’re travelling immediately after your wedding, no doubt you’ll be exhausted, so having things booked before travel means you’ll drag yourself away from the ship to see some magical honeymoon destinations!
  • Pre-book dining to ensure you get a romantic seat for two (unless you’re sociable, of course, and don’t mind sitting with others).
  • To avoid sea sicknesses , be up on deck in the fresh air when the ship pulls out of port (particularly good advice if you’ve had an alcoholic welcome drink!)
  • Look out for sales Many cruise lines have sales throughout the year. Look out for summer sales, black Friday sales, January sales. You can get cabin upgrades, onboard spending credit that you can use for excursion credits, speciality restaurants, couples massage and other onboard spending.
  • Book early-ish Unlike flights (which as a general rule of thumb, you’re able to book 10-11 months in advance), you can usually book a cruise 18-24 months in advance so you can book right up to 2025 right now . However, even 11 months in advance should be plenty of time unless you have your eye on a unique cabin
  • Honeymoon Celebration Packages . Most cruises charge extra for romance packages but they can be a lovely treat on arrival with chocolate-dipped strawberries and champagne. It is a special occasion after all!
  • Always prepay gratuities / tips if they’re not already included, so you don’t have to faff around looking for cash to tip all the time.
  • DIY vs booking with Travel Agent . So we know the pull of arranging a DIY honeymoon but for couples who want to work with a travel expert, the good news is that all the honeymoon cruise lines mentioned work with reputable travel agents. Not only will a great travel agent or tour operator know about the best honeymoon cruise package offers and the best routes, but you have someone to manage all the ins and outs of your honeymoon , too! If you prefer to book DIY, we highly recommend checking out the honeymoon packages with Cruise Direct . Not only can you search all the the best honeymoon cruises in one place , but you’ll see they have discounts and added honeymoon extras you won’t find anywhere else ! Plus, importantly, Cruise Direct have a price guarantee – if the price of your cruise drops after you book, they will readjust the rate for you!

C arnival Cruise Line made a splash with the debut of Excel-class ship Mardi Gras out of Port Canaveral in 2021 and has since followed up with sister ships Carnival Celebration from Miami in 2022 and the new Carnival Jubilee sailing out of Galveston, Texas.

Now the three sister ships will get a fourth sibling, as Carnival Corp. announced Tuesday it has ordered construction of a new ship from the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, for a debut in spring 2027.

It’s actually the 10th Excel-class ship across Carnival’s brands that also includes the new Princess Cruises’ Sun Princess set to debut this year and begin sailing from Port Everglades this fall.

The class of ships run on liquefied natural gas, a cleaner burning fuel that’s part of cruise lines’ efforts to reduce carbon emissions. Mardi Gras became the first LNG-powered cruise ship to homeport in North America when it began sailing from Port Canaveral on July 31, 2021.

Disney Cruise Line’s new ship Disney Wish followed soon after along with Celebration out of Miami and Royal Caribbean’s new Icon of the Seas.

The 180,000-ton ship will have a 6,400-guest capacity. It’s the first new ship ordered by Carnival Corp. in five years with only one new ship among its cruise lines expected in 2025 and none in 2026.

“Building on our strong performance and growing momentum around the world, we are excited to resume our newbuild program and further enhance our global fleet with yet another state-of-the-art ship that will wow Carnival Cruise Line’s guests,” said Carnival Corp. CEO Josh Weinstein in a press release.

Carnival’s fleet recently grew to 27 ships as it took on and rebranded two vessels from sister cruise line Costa — Carnival Venezia in 2023 and Carnival Firenze, which will begin sailing with passengers in April. Carnival Venezia will begin winter Caribbean sailings out of Port Canaveral beginning in December.

Mardi Gras, Celebration and Jubilee, though, are the line’s premier vessels and largest in the fleet, each featuring the nearly 800-foot-long Bolt roller coaster, a neighborhood approach to the ship layout and the most cabin categories such as the family-friendly Family Harbor and adults-only Havana Cabana options.

“Our Excel-class ships have been a tremendous addition to the Carnival fleet and proven very popular with our guests,” said Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy in the release. “As the world’s most popular cruise line, this new ship enables us to continue the growth of our incredible fleet.”

At dawn, fans line up at Jetty Park to see the Carnival Cruise Line ship Mardi Gras arrive at Port Canaveral, Florida, on June 4, 2021.

Frequently Asked Wedding Questions

How can I book a wedding? Just contact us . Once we’ve confirmed that space is available on your date and you’ve booked your cruise, our personal wedding planners can help you find your perfect wedding package. Due to limited space, all wedding reservations are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Can I pay for my wedding over time? Payment is due at the time of booking and a portion of all wedding packages is a non-refundable deposit to secure your special day. Carnival Weddings can be booked by phone with a credit card. Financing may be available and based on approval. Sorry, no personal checks or guest gift cards accepted.

Do I need to cruise to have a Carnival Wedding? Yes, the wedding couple is required to sail. Fortunately, getting married on Carnival is the perfect way to start a honeymoon! We do welcome both sailing and non-sailing guests in most ports. In ports requiring water shuttles to get to and from the ship, non-sailing guests are not permitted to board the shuttles or ship.

At what time do my wedding guests and I need to be at the port? Priority boarding is provided for couples being married the day of embarkation once the ship is cleared by U.S. Customs. Arrival time for wedding guests is usually 10:00am for most ports. These times are provided with embarkation instructions through our Wedding Department based on the embarkation port. You must be at the pier at the time indicated by your Wedding Planner for priority boarding. Please be prompt. Couples getting married later in the cruise will follow general boarding procedures.

How long will my wedding ceremony last? The ceremony is approximately 15 to 20 minutes.

What is included in the ship’s onboard wedding ceremony set-up? Onboard weddings include an aisle runner and two decorative pillars with white silk floral arrangements. We also have additional decorations, like silk rose petals that we are happy to provide with specific wedding package enhancements.

What time does the wedding start? In most ports, weddings start at approximately 12:30pm.

What is the deadline to book a wedding? You must book your wedding no later than 60 business days prior to sailing. But don’t wait that long — all our services are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and often sell-out.

Is the cruise price included in the wedding package? No. The cost of the wedding package and related services does not include cruise fare. Your cruise must be purchased separately. It is important to confirm availability for your desired wedding date, prior to purchasing the cruise.

How do you determine which room my wedding will be in? Wedding lounges are assigned based on the number of guests attending the wedding, plus which reception option you’ve selected.

Will my ceremony be performed by the ship’s captain? All wedding ceremonies are performed by a local officiant, except in the case of the symbolic at sea weddings, where the captain or another senior officer will preside. Some ports allow symbolic ceremonies only, while the laws in other ports prevent us from being able to offer legal or symbolic ceremonies.

Do I need to have a reception with my wedding ceremony? How you celebrate your big day is up to you, and we know you want to make it memorable for your guests. We can accommodate almost any budget with options for hors d’oeuvres and beverages. If you select a package without a reception, a short cake cutting and champagne toast will be held to end your ceremony.

Which time of the year is the least expensive to have a wedding? Wedding prices don’t change seasonally but are subject to change at any point based on capacity and demand. Some vendor holiday fees may apply.

Can I get married while at sea? Yes! We now offer the option of Wedding At Sea. These are symbolic ceremonies — they’re not legally binding. Offer available on select ships and dates. Contact us to inquire about availability. The symbolic ceremony is performed by an assigned shipboard officer or member of management. Couples are required to provide a proof of legal marriage prior to sailing.

Do you perform same sex marriages? Absolutely! Note, however, that certain ports we sail to do not recognize the legality of same-sex wedding ceremonies. In those ports we can only provide symbolic ceremonies for same-sex couples. The laws at some ports prevent us from being able to offer a symbolic or a legal service. Please contact us for more information on which ports have restrictions.

What is the difference between the types of Carnival weddings? An Embarkation Wedding takes place on the ship before your cruise begins, so you can celebrate with family and friends who are not sailing with you.

A Wedding At Sea requires that all guests sail with you since it takes place on the ship, at sea.

An Onboard Destination Wedding is offered aboard the ship while it’s docked in a particular port.

Destination Venue Weddings happen off the ship, either on a beach or a similarly beautiful location.
