Spiritual Amritsar Journey From Delhi by Flight
Journey to Amritsar from Delhi by flight and it was an experience that I will never forget. As a spiritual seeker, I was drawn to the holy city of Amritsar and its famous Golden Temple. The flight from Delhi to Amritsar was smooth and comfortable, taking only about an hour to reach my destination. Upon landing, I was greeted by the bustling city and the warm hospitality of the locals. I immediately felt a sense of peace and tranquility, knowing that I was about to embark on a journey of self-discovery and spiritual awakening. My first stop was, of course, the Golden Temple. As I entered the complex, I was mesmerized by the sight of the gleaming temple and its reflection in the sacred pool, also known as the Amrit Sarovar. The atmosphere was charged with devotion and I could feel a sense of holiness that permeated the air. I spent hours exploring the temple complex, taking in the beautiful architecture, and participating in the rituals and prayers. I also had the opportunity to partake in the langar, a communal meal served to all visitors, regardless of their religion or social status. This act of selfless service left a deep impact on me and reminded me of the importance of humility and equality in all aspects of life. Next, I visited the Jallianwala Bagh, a memorial site that commemorates the tragic massacre of innocent civilians by the British army in 1919. As I walked through the garden, I couldn't help but feel a sense of sorrow and respect for those who lost their lives in the fight for independence. It was a powerful reminder of the sacrifices made for our freedom. I also made a trip to the Wagah border, the only road crossing between India and Pakistan, to witness the famous flag-lowering ceremony. The energy and enthusiasm of the crowd, coupled with the patriotic songs and chants, left me with a sense of pride for my country. Apart from these major attractions, I also visited other important spiritual sites such as the Durgiana Temple, Ram Tirath Temple, and the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum. Each place had its own unique history and significance, adding to the spiritual richness of Amritsar. Overall, my spiritual journey to Amritsar from Delhi by flight was a life-changing experience. It allowed me to connect with my inner self and deepen my understanding of spirituality. The city's rich history, vibrant culture, and warm people left a lasting impression on me. I would highly recommend this journey to anyone seeking a deeper spiritual connection.

From Delhi: 2-Day Amritsar Golden Temple & Wagah Border Tour
A tour and itinerary that ideally suited my needs. A compact whirlwind tour delivered expertly by the companionable Anil, with obvious local expertise and knowledge enhancing my experience. Harimandir Sahib The Golden Temple is a truly wondrous sight to behold - a must-see for all visitors to India. Plus its remarkable free-to-all catering operation that has to be seen to be believed. Return travel plans by train were unfortunately disrupted (meaning 4-star, not 5, sorry) due to circumstances beyond anyone's control (a rail-occupying protest from local Farmers), but Sanjeev was immediately available and responsive to the glitch. Between us, we seamlessly developed a contingency option, even if it required less-than-social hours for us both! Nothing but gratitude to Sanjeev (and his Amritsar associates) for the attentiveness. Amritsar Tour From Delhi By Shatabdi Train
We Have no any other option to take the Amritsar Tour from Delhi by Shatabdi Train and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The tour was well-organized and everything went smoothly from start to finish. The journey from Delhi to Amritsar on the Shatabdi train was comfortable and convenient. The train was clean and well-maintained, and the seats were spacious and comfortable. The on-board service was also excellent, with friendly and efficient staff catering to our needs. Upon arrival in Amritsar, we were greeted by our tour guide who was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the city. He gave us a brief introduction to Amritsar and its history, and then we proceeded to visit the Golden Temple. The Golden Temple was a sight to behold. The magnificent structure, the serene atmosphere, and the devotion of the people made it a truly spiritual experience. Our guide took us around the temple and explained the significance of each part of the complex. We also got to witness the langar (community meal) which is served to all visitors for free. After the Golden Temple, we visited the Jallianwala Bagh, a memorial to the tragic massacre that took place there in 1919. Our guide gave us a detailed account of the events that took place and it was a somber and moving experience. The tour also included a visit to the Wagah Border, where we witnessed the famous Beating Retreat ceremony. It was a thrilling experience to see the soldiers from both India and Pakistan perform their drill with such precision and patriotism. The tour ended with a visit to the local markets where we got to indulge in some shopping and try out some delicious Punjabi cuisine. Our guide took us to some of the best street food stalls and we were not disappointed. Overall, the Amritsar Tour from Delhi by Shatabdi Train was a memorable experience. The well-planned itinerary, comfortable transportation, knowledgeable guide, and the beautiful city of Amritsar all made it a perfect trip. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the vibrant culture and history of Amritsar.

Golden Triangle Tour with Amritsar (Golden Temple)
Few things command more respect than hard work, integrity, and dedication. These are among the many attributes we experienced from start to finish with World travel experiences when organizing our trip to India. This travel agent is an excellent listener and pays attention to detail. Although our itinerary took us to 4 cities our agent managed to coordinate every aspect of our tour. The choice of guide was perfect for us. The drivers were all skilled and reliable and the vehicles were always clean and stocked with water, sanitized wipes and in some cases snacks for us to enjoy. Safety was never a concern. Our agent's recommendations for hotels and accommodations were spot on and the restaurant and food choices for us were extraordinary. We could not be more pleased with every component of our tour to India and must give this agent, and the tour company, the highest marks possible. Thank you!!!

Golden Temple Amritsar - Place of Peace and Power
Thanks Yolo India Tours for a great tour! Amit replied to my email enquiries very quickly and also organised an airport transfer for me at short notice. The drivers were friendly and helpful and the train trips were comfortable. My tour guide, Sahil, was very knowledgeable and friendly. Sahil was also very flexible and was happy to arrange things around what I wanted to do. The accommodation was also very nice and within walking distance to the Golden Temple. I would definitely use this company again and recommend to others. Thanks! Lisa :-)

What people love about Amritsar Tours
I can happily recommend Fragrance Of Taj to one-and-all.
Good itinerary lots of new sights and experiences. Excellent guide

Amritsar 3 Nights/4 Days Tour Packages with Price & Itinerary, Holiday Packages
Everyone wishes to visit the city of Amritsar at least once. After all, it is among the popular tourist destinations in North India that impresses people with its rich history that dates back to the 16th century when it was founded by Guru Ram Das, the 4th Sikh Guru. Book our Amritsar 3 nights and 4 days tour packages to visit this amazing destination leisurely.
Amritsar has its magical charm, aura, and ambiance that makes you feel at home away from home. It is one of the largest cities in Punjab that receives over a lakh of visitors every year – all thanks to its diverse culture and heritage that allows you to step back into the bygone era and learn more about India’s pre-independence struggle.
While one side of the city boasts age-old monuments, historical structures, and breathtaking architecture to impress history buffs in large numbers, the other side is blessed with colorful and vibrant markets where you can shop as much as you want to return home with souvenirs for your loved ones. Not to forget about the fine-dining restaurants, hotels, and small eateries that serve traditional Punjabi cuisine to treat your taste buds with lip-smacking dishes.
There are many other interesting things to do in Amritsar to keep yourself entertained throughout the time. For instance, you can head to famous religious sites like the Golden Temple to attain peace of mind in utmost tranquility. To seek positivity from the inside out, Amritsar provides a home to several holy and divine places, which includes the Durgiana Temple, Guru Ka Mahal, Gurudwara Chheharta Sahib, Akal Takht, Mata Lal Devi Temple , Gurudwara Mata Kaulan, etc.
However, to explore everything in one go, you’ll obviously need enough time. We recommend you to book an Amritsar tour package with a minimum of 3 nights of stay so that you can visit all the sightseeing places in Amritsar at your ease.
At Holidays DNA , our Amritsar tour packages have been designed to offer you a wholesome experience you’ll cherish for your entire life. We want our travelers to enjoy their trip to the fullest without worrying about what’s happening in the backend and to ensure this, we don’t mind going the extra mile to present you with the best of our services.
The best thing about choosing us as your travel agent is that our Amritsar 3 nights and 4 days tour packages can be enjoyed from any metro city in the country. Hiring a taxi with an experienced chauffeur is undoubtedly a great way to commute within the city. Not only it allows you to leisurely explore Amritsar in your utmost comfort but you can also spend as much time as you want. After you’re tired of roaming from one place to another, you can head to your hotel whenever your mind pleases.
Although Amritsar has many points of interest that deserve your attention, there are a few places that you cannot miss at any cost, no matter what. These include the Wagah Border, Jallianwala Bagh, Partition Museum, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum, Harike Wetland , Gobindgarh Fort, and Tarn Taran Sahib.
You can pay heed to the recreational parks in Amritsar like the Rainbow Resorts Water Park, Bliss Aqua World, Sun City Water Park , and Thunderzone Amusement Park to add some adventure to your trip. These entertainment parks are a go-to spot for locals and visitors to get rid of the harsh heat during the hot days.
For shopaholics, there is a Hall Bazaar. A bustling shopping street in the heart of the city, the Hall Bazaar offers a wide range of goods including clothes, footwear, handicrafts, jewelry, and electronics items under one roof. Make sure to bargain (you never know when your bargaining skills help you save a few bucks).
Speaking of its food, the city is considered a paradise for food lovers. Some of the dishes that you must try whenever you’re there (whether for a short or long duration) are Butter Chicken, Tandoori Chicken, Amritsari Kulcha, Sarson ka Saag with Makki ki Roti, Lassi, and Pinni.
The best time to visit Amritsar is from November to March. At this time, the weather remains pleasant with an average temperature ranging from 5 degrees Celsius to 20 degrees Celsius, making it comfortable for sightseeing.
Another good time to visit Amritsar is during the festival season, especially during Diwali and Baisakhi. Diwali, the festival of lights, is celebrated in October or November, and the city is illuminated with colorful lights and decorations. Baisakhi, the harvest festival, is celebrated in April and is an important cultural event in Punjab.
Please note that traveling by air is the most convenient option for people traveling from far. It is well-connected to several domestic and international destinations via several flights, making it easy for you to cover the maximum distance in the least possible time. The other two available options are via railways and roadways. You can pick whatever suits you the best.

One Day Amritsar Sightseeing Trip by Cab
The city of the majestic Golden Temple, Amritsar attracts thousands of pilgrims, tourists and foodies every year. Amritsar loosely translates to “pool of nectar” and the city derives its name from Amrit Sarovar which was built by Guru Ram Das in the village of Tung. The most recommended way to experience the spiritual and cultural centre of the Sikh religion is with our one day Amritsar local sightseeing tour by private car .
Amritsar is also known for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre that took place here and its proximity to Wagah Border. Despite seeing some of the worst tragedies in the recent decades, Amritsar today triumphs as a thriving city with commerce and tourism centres.
The region also lies in one of the most agriculturally productive belts of India. It is easily accessible for everyone since it is well connected to the most important cities in India.
Visiting this city during the festival of Baisakhi is a must because at this time, Amritsar showcases its finest food, clothes and traditions, making it ideal for a one day sightseeing tour.

What to see! A Quick Guide to Amritsar Sightseeing Tour by Taxi
Below is the list of sightseeing places included in the 1 Day Amritsar local Sightseeing tour package.
1. The Golden Temple
- Must See / Things to Do: While you are at the temple, don’t forget to taste the delicious langar. The temple also has the largest kitchen in the world that offers free food to everyone visiting.
- Timings: 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM
- Holiday / Closed on: Open on All Days
- Recommended Duration: 45 Minutes
- Entry Fee: No Entry Fee
- Website: Golden Temple
We start off with the most majestic sight on the Amritsar one day local sightseeing package, the Golden Temple, also known as Sri Harmandir Sahib, which is the holiest place of worship for the Sikh community. This temple serves as a glowing symbol of brotherhood and equality that Sikhism so ardently preaches.
The Golden Temple is actually just a small section of the massive complex of Harmandir Sahib. Amrit Sarovar is a revered tank located in the complex and its water is believed to have healing powers.
Then there is the Harmandir that leads to the Guru’s Bridge. This path symbolises the journey of the soul after death. The golden edifice is truly a sight of beauty and awe, and an embodiment of calmness and spirituality.
You must also visit the Sikh Museum which is located inside the main entrance of the clock tower. This museum displays the atrocities endured by the Sikhs at the hands of the Mughals, the British and the Indian Government of 1984. The Ramgarhia Bunga in the temple complex is a protective fortress located at the southeast end of the tank.
2. Jallianwala Bagh
- PMust See / Things to Do: The infamous wall and the well that still bear bullet holes and stand witness of the massacre.
- Timings: 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
- Website: Jallianwala Bagh
The Jallianwala Bagh today is a public garden that houses a memorial to commemorate the massacre of thousands of innocent lives by the British forces. Jallianwala Bagh was established in 1951 and the massacre memorial was inaugurated by Dr Rajendra Prasad in April,1961.
The beautiful park occupies an area of over 6.5 acres of land. There is a narrow lane between the nearby houses which leads to the park. A memorial tablet has been put up at the entrance and it serves as a reminder of the terrible event.\
A wall which still bears the marks of the bullets that were flung carelessly at the celebrators, and a well in which the people jumped to save themselves from the ambush of the bullets, remind us of the lives that were lost. A memorial in the remembrance of the event has also been installed.
3. Durgiana Temple
- Must See / Things to Do: Do take a careful look at the dome and the walls, as they have beautiful carvings.
- Website: Durgiana Temple
Durgiana Temple of Amritsar is also known as Lakshmi Narayan Temple. Any unspecified photograph of this temple will lead to confusing it for the famous Golden Temple!
In its architecture, the temple does not resemble a traditional Hindu temple, but that of the Golden Temple. Durgiana Temple rises from the midst of a tank and has coverings and a central dome. This beautiful temple dedicated to Goddess Durga was built by Guru Harsai Mal Kapoor and its foundation stone was laid by one of India’s most important political leaders, Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya.
Besides Goddess Durga, this temple also houses the idols of Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu. You may also know this temple that is located near the Lohgarh Gate in Amritsar as the Silver Temple, due to its engraved silver doors. By visiting both the Golden Temple and the Durgiana Temple, you are covering two of the most beautiful pilgrimage sights of India, in the one day Amritsar private sightseeing tour.
Lunch and Shopping
Amritsar, along with the Golden Temple, is also very famous for its food. Amritsari Kulcha, Lassi, Chicken Tikka, Tandoori Chicken are only some of Amritsar’s most loved dishes.
There are also a lot of vegetarian options available such as Chhole Batura, Parathe, Dal Makhani, Rajma Chawal, Sarson Da Saag with Makki ki Roti and so much more. But most importantly, don’t miss out on the Guru-ka-Langar at the Golden Temple.
Hall Bazaar in Amritsar is the perfect place to shop for electronic gadgets, ornaments, books, handicrafts and clothes. Check out some of the traditional handicrafts and embroidery work known as ‘phulkari’. Shop to your heart’s content as our private cars are available to guide you through the market and carry all those heavy shopping bags. Please note that lunch charges is not included in the package.
4. Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum
- Must See / Things to Do: The painting depicting the old city of Lahore is the most famous painting kept in the museum.
- Website: Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum
Next up on the one day Amritsar trip is Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum, which is a beautiful museum perched in the middle of Ram Bagh Garden in Amritsar. This museum served as the summer palace of the first king of Sikh Empire, Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The conversion of the palace into a museum happened in 1977. The museum is best known for archiving the history, art and architecture of the Sikhs of the 18th and the 19th century.
The museum is also a great place to peek into the life of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The museum displays the Maharaja’s arms and armour, cherished paintings and ancient coins and manuscripts.
The paintings displayed in the galleries of the museum showcase the court and camp of the king. These reflect the secular attitude of the king and the thriving history of the Sikhs.
5. Wagah Border
- Must See / Things to Do: The Beating Retreat Ceremony starts at 4:15 PM in winter and 5:15 PM in summer. This 45 minute ceremony includes the closing of the international gates and lowering the flags of both the countries. Remember to arrive at the spot one hour early to secure good seats.
- Website: Wagah Border
Wagah Border lies on the Grand Trunk Road and separates Amritsar in India, and Lahore in Pakistan. Since 1959 the flag ceremony is being conducted every day at sunset. This is an event organized by the Indian Border Security Force and Pakistan Rangers. Wagah border is the last place to visit in this one day city tour.
The Wagah Border is located at a distance of 28 km from Amritsar. Every evening, troops from the Indian and Pakistan military meet at the border post to participate in a 30-minute display of military extravaganza.
It is both an entertaining and patriotic event where the national anthem singing, dancing and loud applause takes place with an enthusiastic audience. The massive gate known as “Swarn Jayanti Dwar” separates the two countries. Visiting the Wagah Border leaves you with a sense of pride and is an excellent way to end the Amritsar local sightseeing tour.
We are looking forward to seeing you in the beautiful city of Amritsar and helping you experience the treasures of culture and history that this city is best known for!
